Driverheaven Mobility Mod Tool

Hello everyone, new here. I'm a real big newb to all of this stuff, but I stumbled onto this and I hope someone can help me. I have a Dell with an ATI Mobility M6. I've had problems with my machine supporting Star Wars Galaxies and I have a few graphic problems with Raven-Shield. I wanted to know what I could do in order to fix these problems. I'm guesing (Once again, I'm not too sure about this stuff) I need to download a catalyst for my Mobility M6 and then use the tool to mod it??? I would appreciate any help on this, especially if it comes in step-by-step instructions... Thanks.

you came to the right place my friend. you are right all you need to do is download the catalyst set and use the modder.

Thank you for the help Patje, but I need to ask another question. How do I know what catalyst I should get? I looked at the catalyst list for ATI and am totally lost. :/

download the latest one, version 3.6 and the control panel, also make sure you download the win2k/xp version.

Another option is to use omega's drivers, his last set contains support for laptops:

is it necassaery to run this with the omega drivers or just the ATI retail drivers? Thanks!

It's not nessecary to run it with the latest omega drivers because they offer support for mobility products.
It is nessecary to run it with a the latest catalyst set, cause they don't offer mobility support.

Hi Patje,

Thanks for the great mod. I just installed on my Thinkpad T40p, which has the Mobility 9000, and it went smoothly. Unfortunately, the notebook's LCD native resolution is 1400x1050, and it is not available in Display Settings. The slider only goes up to 1280x1024. Any idea why, or how I can force it to go higher?

Well,

I haven't found a solution on that yet. In the meanwhile you might get a workaround using powerstrip

Hi Patje tanks for you works! I've got a littel problem: with Cat 4.4 your tool works pretty well, but Smartgard has locked fastWrite off and no AGP. Can you tell me why or how i can solve this?

Fixed! It was only a problem on AGP driver. Now everything works fine.

That were posted above don't work. Incidentally I have a Radeon IGP 340M and am trying to play City of Heroes. Can play but can't see the graphics well. All characters are just the base with no overlay and appear all white or black and the buildings are transparent lots of the times. Any help so I can play this on my Comaq 2170US would be appreciated. I really want this to work cause the game rocks and now I am overseas and only have a laptop and I also want to add another success to the mobility crusade!

Heya, first time on the board and hoping for a miracle.

I play EQ and I have a problem only in one expansion's zones. Whenever I enter any zone in the expansion my comp locks up and after I restart it the error screen says that it couldn't complete a drawing function. I have installed the mod and the catalyst 4.9 drivers. Any ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Cool tool, but I'm having the same problem with no luck at all. I have an IBM notebook with an ATI MOBILITY FireGL V3200, I downloaded fireglxp-8.263-dd-cp-34003.exe, it created folder C:\ATI\FireGL 7.93.4.1 (with subdir \HVision, where the setup files were, and NO .INF files are in that directory).
And, of course, the instructions for using Mod... V3 don't work for me.

That '533' error looks like a .NET framework error.

Please tell me what I should do.

More Questions here,

My laptop is a hp zd8000 with ati x600.

Downloaded driver cleaner and the mod tool, booted into safemode tried to clean drivers.cab but all it would do was hang and program was not responding, cleaned sp2.cab fine, program hanged for a sec, but then came around.

ran driver cleaner and cleaned out all ati drivers and apps, even though mmc /remote/... all apear in the add/remove still.

After uninstalling the driver that got loaded when i booted into safemode, i rebooted ran the mod tool installed the drivers, ran 3dmark03, and dispite a 200 point drop in score, all seemed to be fine.

Untill today, that is when i tried to adjust some setting in the advanced tab and there was nothing but general/adapter/monitor/troubleshoot/color managment tabs. I think that might have had to do with the control center being part of the drivers and no control panel. But the driver package did not install the control center, and yes i have .net 2.0 installed.

So i went to the drivers folder where the control center folder is located ran the setup program manually and installed the control center. Rebooted but everytime I got to run the control center nothing happens. The hourglass icon shows for a sec, but nothing happens.

Does the mod tool usually install the control center?

What might I have done wrong?

Hi,

Try downloading the normal ati catalyst drivers, not the fireGL ones, the modtool only works with the normal drivers.

Everytime i try to download the DH Modder It says Page Not Found.
Anyone have a working link?? Or should I try the Omega Driver First??

I set up my Fujitsu N6460 (ATI Radeon HD 2600 video card) with Vista to dual boot with XP and all worked except the
video and audio. I followed the directions found here to modify and load the ATI
drivers and it worked the first time. Now just have to get the audio working....any advice?

same as above, i need this file - i used it a couple years ago to play bf2 with my old video card and it worked like a charm. now i was hard pressed to figure out what the fix was i used that made it work, and then after hours and hours of internet searching
i found it, but the link doesnt work! does anyone have the file and can host/send it to me please?
