Hi Spike, can you send me the same solution that you sent/will send to SuperBert, as I have the same Asus A2D notebook with the Mobility 9600, and get no 3d acceleration whatsoever in Vista (except when I force it to use the XP driver, which gives me BSOD's upon shutdown/restart/hibernate). I have tried the Mobility Modder for Vista with no success. Thanks for any help.

eshag i did not send any update to SuperBert, because after looking at some things it looks like the main problem is the motherboard chipset. The sis chipset needs vista drivers, because that uses xp drivers and that can cause the problem.

Vista has own vista drivers for that mobility chip, but if vista does not install that then the problem is most times the motherboard chipset that is not installed right or does not have real vista drivers.

It doesn't work for me, I've sucessfully modded the ati installation files, but when the drivers installation start, it says:
Setup did not find a driver compatible with your current hardware or operating system.
Setup will now exit.

Have you also tried updating the driver through device manager and pointing it to the right folder.

Hi i've tried to use the tool but i noticed that it doesn't support the ATI M7 or M9 ie the 340IGP and the Mobility 7500 or any other before the release of the 9200.

Is there anyway you can introduce this chipset into you drivers. I'm currently using the XP drivers for the Mobility 7500 that is in my old laptop which is running vista but all i get is BSOD's on restarts and shutdowns.

I'd be grateful if you could at support the the M7 and M9 range. Anyways keep up with the good work.

I'll send you out the hardware id's i need via e-mail.

ok spike, when i went to windows update, i noticed that it had both an updated radeon driver, and an updated AGP driver (i assume this is what you mean by chipset driver, and I also assume that any driver available through windows update will be a vista driver). will downloading this help with the problem? Last time I tried to download it, the display locked up upon restart (though i cannot say for certain that it was the agp driver, as I had installed A LOT of things at the same time). Interestingly, there are virtually no Vista drivers available on the SiS website, and certainly nothing chipset related (which is strange, as I have a desktop PC which works PERFECTLY with Vista and has an SiS chipset). Do you know if they are going to bother making any?

I don't know if sis is going to make vista drivers. It is possible they already have them and that only the companies that use those chipsets will release the drivers.

Also the drivers that vista gives on the update can still be xp drivers. I know vista uses xp drivers for some old chipsets. So i can't be sure if that are real vista drivers.

@hacktrix2006 if you send me an email with those id's then i can look and see if i can add them. The main difficulty would be to make the device software settings right. Will look at that when you send me those id's.

I have a problem with Vista, Catalyst 7.4 and Mobility Modder. I modded the driver but the setup always complains that it can't find any ATI devices.

I have Vista Home Premium on an Asus F3JP with ATI Mobility Radeon X1700. I tried the non-mobility Catalyst from the Ati page, both english and multi-language versions and I have the 0.7.2.0 version of the Mobility Modder. I did select the C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-4... directory.

I could not get the ATI drivers to install but I found Catalyst 7.3.1 for Asus from the asustreiber.de site: http://www.asustreiber.de/download.php?list.92
The ATi Mobile Catalyst 7.3.1 ASUS driver set installed itself without any modding. I hope this package helps you to fix the X1700 issues!

yikes, used this tool to install catalyst 7.4 and my x1900 gained about 10% in 3dmark 05 and 06, pulling 7397 and 3530 respectively, nice work!!

Tried to find any ATI mobility driver with Google and found ASUS 7.3 driver on ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/ASUS/vga/A..._Vista3264.zip. Normal installation didn't succed but after modding new ATI Display Driver is installed. There are some artefacts but frame rate in games increases. Someting to try until new MobilityModder(beta?) is out...

Hi spike anyluck yet?, I've decided to help out everyone on this forum site with laptop graphics card i know how to maintain them and all that stuff i used to make XP drivers work well with old cards but vista is a different kind of fish all together. I'm really hoping that i can get a vista driver working. As dell is being tight arse's and not helping me out. The Bsod's are really starting to get to me. is there anything i can do whilst i wait for a solution.

hacktrix2006 for now there is nothing yet on a release for those older cards. It is a lot of work to look into it and see what needs changing. So please keep waiting.

Hi everyone, hi Spike! I wonder if there will be sopport for M 6 chipset? I tried to install modified 7.4, but it doesn't work of course

. I love my Compaq N410c and I got Vista for present. Now, the notebook runs with Vista, but watching any kind of movie is nearly impossible (not because of missing codecs). Calling the HP support was lost time...

Would be great if M'Mobber would support M 6.

Hi spike,

man i have an issue, it is not related to the modded app, it works fine, i have an LG-LP60 notebook, with 3 Gig HT CPU , 1 gig of RAM and ATI 9700 128 MB, when i install vista ATI driver the system became very slow, i notice some strange issues, when i look to the AGP properties it shows that the system have dedicated memory 128 MB and (System shared 64 MB), my AGP dont have any System Shared Memory, even Hardware accelaration button is shadowed i cant access it, when i install XP driver it works the system back Fast, but Blue screen problem appeared in Hibernation and sleep, and there is no 3d, any help will be appreciated...

Hey guys/gals, just wanted to say a big thanks for all your efforts in making this program, and getting it out to people.

I recently purchased a reasonably high-spec laptop but my supplier will not update the gfx card drivers ...grrrrrrrrrr.

I was so happy to find this program and it worked a charm for the 7.4 Vista 64 drivers.

I tried downloading 7-4_vista32_dd_ccc_enu_44985 off of ATI website and installing On Windows Vista Ultimate-32 bit, of course it didn't work since 7.2 was last version that installed without modding on my computer. (MacBook Pro 15 Inch first generation with ATI X1600 Mobility)

Disabled annoying vista UAC and rebooted, ran mod, mod applied successfully but when attempting to install said found no installable software. Would not let me install driver or CCC. Not sure what information would be needed. But here's what I have.

Tool version in help menu states 0.7.2.0 and i just downloaded today so using latest tool. Any help would be appricated, Although 7.2 suite installs fine without moding. it lacks all the vista optimisations and fixes 7.3 and 7.4 have especially for newer video cards.

Any help would be appricated, Although 7.2 suite installs fine without moding. it lacks all the vista optimisations and fixes 7.3 and 7.4 have especially for newer video cards.
