Thanks a ton for all of your continued hard work.
I recently upgraded my laptop, and now have a Mobility x1900. Any plans on adding this to the supported cards list? |

Seemed to work for me as well. Only hitch was that I got an error in the middle of the conversion (something about an MSI service error, I think), but everything still seems to work OK otherwise.

I had also trouble in getting the Catalyst Control Center to start after installing and using the new Vista modding utility. So, first I uninstalled all ATI drivers and components through "Programs and features"; then removed all traces of ATI using "Driver Cleaner PE" (in Safe Mode). At last I installed the 7.4 version (modded), restarted.... and... everything is working as it should - also Catalyst Control Center. (MacBook Pro w/ATI Radeon Mobility X1600 running Vista Ultimate under BootCamp) -

Just wanted to say thanks. I have a new Dell Inspiron running Vista Home Premium and a mobility radeon x1400 ati. I just followed the instructions and used the Beta mobility modder. It worked fine! I had catalyst 7.2 before and now I have 7.4 running and Second Life now works it seems (though I still have never played it). Had some weirdness after the reboot - the sound on my machine stopped working but for some reason the system had defaulted to USB speakers instead of the integrated speakers (there are no USB speakers installed!).
Anyhow, it all seems to work so huge thanks. Carl |

Spike, just a little update on my problem. I have finally managed to get the driver to install using the device manager's update driver, then have disk etc etc after several attempts of modding the files. However, I am still unable to install CCC, I have installed all the .msi files inside the CCC folder, I can now select it when I right click my desktop and also from all programs, but everytime I do, i get the following error http://www2.simslearning.co.uk/locke...0/CCCerror.jpg
Any idea's? Cheers |

I thought that would work to, but that just gives me the error I screened earlier, it doesnt let me get into the custom install screen where I can select CCC unfortunatly
. *EDIT* I've managed to get CCC to work running in compatabilty mode using the XP 7.4 drivers. So its all working now, just infuture, ill need to modify the Vista driver, install it using device manager. Last edited by Nit3m4re; Apr 23, 2007 at 06:37 PM. |

I have tried to install Catalyst 7.4 on my laptop, that have a ati mobility radeon 9000 and windows vista . I use mobility modder and i start to install Catalyst 7.4, but the display driver is not installed. The others things are installed with
success. I have downloaded the version for windows vista 32 bits for ati radeon 9500 display driver. Any solutions? It will be the problem from the version that i have downloaded? Or it is not possible to use catalyst with a ati mobility radeon 9000? grateful for the attention! |

Mobility 9200
I too am interested in getting the Mobility 9000/9200 series working with Vista drivers. Right now I'm forced to use XP drivers which causes many compatibility issues.
Please let me know what information you need and I'll gladly supply it. Thanks! |

This made my day! I've never been to or heard of Driver Heaven before until today. I was just browsing Notebook Review in the gaming section and stubled upon a thread linking to the Mobility Manger.
Well, 15 minutes later my Dell E1505's ATI x1400 has 7.4 Cats and I'm a member here. THANKS!!!

@ Zigoto and ryan.graham the mobility drivers start now from 9500 and up so those can't be installed on the 9000 or 9200. I will see if i can find anything to add those.

Dear Sir,
First, I thank you for your effort to provide so good software to have us can use newest driver from ATI. I followed your instruction and use the software to patch the Catalyst 7.4 and installed, then I found my graphics adapter became ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700 instead of FireGL V5000, but the icon showed at the left lower corner of Catalyst Control Center is the icon of "ATI FireGL", I don't know why this happened, and I either don't know it is X700 or V5000 now, please can help me about this issue. If it became a X700, the 3D performance in CAD such as Pro/Engineer and AutoCAD should be much lower than V5000, right? Thanks very much for your sharing and support. Patrick Wang |

Hi,
Some of the FireGL 5000 have the same hardware ID as the X700 and use the same software settings. The only difference is the Sub System ID. So the only real difference is the name and that should be fixed in the upcomming version. For performance it should not matter. You still have a FireGL 5000

Has anyone tried this on a Mobility FireGL5250? I noticed that only the 5200 was listed and I didn't want to try to get this to work and then hose my laptop.
Thanks! |

Ati Mobility Igp 9000/windows Xp
I've successfully installed Catalyst 7.4 and updated my ATI drivers, but now I'm having issues even starting some of my games, issues with DirectX (with programs such as Google Earth), and issues with my DVD playback software InterVideo WinDVD, as well as Windows Media Player 11. I've tried numerous versions of the ATI catalyst versions from this site, but still having the same issues......
I'm using a Toshiba Satellite with ATI Mobility IGP 9000, windows XP SP2 any suggestions? Quote:

Spike, if you can somehow figure out a way to make the 9000/9200 work you'd be a hero to thousands of laptop owners.
When Vista was still RC1 I took a look at modding the Vista beta catalyst drivers to work with the 9200 but was unable to figure everything out. If you decide to look into this let me know if you need any help or other information. Thanks again! |

HPQ nx9420
Hello!
I've tried this tool on my HP nx9420, which uses Mobility Radeon x1600, with Catalyst 7.4, but before the driver installation, I got the not supported hardware message... Any suggestion why this don't work? |

Did you select the right folder? You need to select like C:\ATI\Support\7-4......
Can you send me a dxdiag dump? then i can see if your hardware id is in the new list. The new upcomming version has more hardware id's nad such so need to check if it is in there.
