Backup Windows Registry with Linux?

hi
i just cleaned up my registry with driver cleaner pro today and had no problems after the first reboots. after i rebooted the pc again suddenly my sound was broken and windows could not find my soundcard anymore thus i reinstalled the drivers. after the reboot i got the message that windows could not boot anymore because my system folder could not be found. is there any way to restore the old settings without getting into windows? im currently using knoppix/linux (booting from cd) to write this post so could it also be possible to install the registry backup with linux?
thanks for your help!
kyu

ps: im using windows xp professional edition

System Specs

Can you tell what exactly did you do? Because Driver Cleaner Pro is not a registry cleaner. The program is to remove driver remainings after a driver uninstall and you should run it after a driver uninstall and before you install the new driver.

What filters did you select and what driver did you want to uninstall? Did you follow the steps exactly?

That the system folder can't be found is weird, i never heard that before.
