Trouble with videocard/ Driver Cleaner

Alright so I have a Nvidia GeForce 6600 GT and before that a ATI Radeon 9200SE and so what happens is whenever I run WoW after a few seconds my whole computer crashes and just reboots, also I only maintain 60 fps while playing Counter-Strike 1.6 which I should be getting more. And I've done video stress tests and ram tests and narrowed it down to the power supply or so I thought as soon as I put in a new power supply it does the samething.

So me and my friend thought it was the drivers that I didn't get all the ATI ones out and stuff. So I used Driver Cleaner PE 1.5 and followed all the instructions unplug internet, uninstall ATI stuff, boot in safemode, run the driver.cab sp2,cab and the driver stuff and removed did the filters for all ATI stuff and Nvidia stuff just to make sure and start from scratch.

But I still encounter the same problem and what I've come to a conclusion is that it's not deleting the registry stuff like it says its deleted but in the readme for the Driver Clear one of the steps is to empty your trash but there is nothing in there.

And when I just run the Driver Cleaner again the same stuff just shows up almost like its not deleting it so basically what it comes down to is I don't know what to do next so if anyone could put in some help or advice please do it's much appreciated.

oh btw my mobo type is PC Chips AMD type.

Some registry keys can't be deleted. Windows locks those in some way.

The recycle bin step is added, becuase sometimes it is possible something is in there.

Have you also checked if vsync is off, because that could explain why it stays on 60fps

I had the similar problem. I installed a geforce fx 5500 and had an ATI previously. The same issues you stated happened to me with GTA SA. I ran the drivercleaner and somehow lost my windows driver. I am still in the process of trying to recover. I hope you can figure it out and post your findings if you do. It would be interesting to see what you had to do.

drivehard454 is that also with Driver Cleaner Pro 1.5?

Because in DC 1.5 Pro there is a bug in the cleaning filter. That bug is fixed in Platinum and also in the new .NET version

Spike, yes it was pro 1.5. I downloaded the driver cleaner and ran it and poof. Now I recovered by downloading a new windows and can access the old HD that way, but I still have bugs that need working out. Getting frustrated.
