Driverheaven - Driver Cleaner 1.0
Ok guys,
Here is the new version from Driver Cleaner. I decided to make a new final build with some small changes and i redid the help file. In the help file is a new section FAQ. I added that with 5 questions i recieved most with mail or pm. I hope that that will make it easier for people to find an answer. If you still have a question you can still mail me. I will keep improving the program and start thinking for a new program.
IMPORTANT: uninstall the older version first before you install this version.
It is for nVidia and ATI drivers. It will remove anything that is left by the drivers after uninstall.
You can download the new version here.

Thanks!
I'm new to ATi drivers & they've been driving me up a wall trying to uninstall the old & install new. The 3.0a after the 2.5 required a PCI card & manully deleting the registry.
DL'ing now.

Schweet Spike!
Hey, I used it and it works very nicely...just as good as a hand job! (Yes, I KNOW that sounds terrible, but you know what I mean! ) Great job Spike, thanks!

This sounds great.
I have not used this program yet and I haven't installed an ATI driver in a few months.
I am currently using an Omega driver. I think they are supposed to uninstall themselves.
Question:
If I am going from an Omega driver to an official ATI driver, can/should I use this program?

Yep it has support for the omega sets so all is removed and you can do a clean driver install.

after cleaning the message in the box below is full of 'file not found xxxxxx' etc Is this normal?? Its just that after uninstallignt he drivers then cleaning WinXP automatically re-installed the cat3.1s after the reboot instead of the standard VGA card.
In a word, help?

I want to use DriverCleaner to remove the nvidia drivers for my GeForce3 Ti500 before I install my new Radeon 9700 Pro. However, my motherboard is an nvidia nforce2. Is DriverCleaner smart enough to avoid removing the nvidia mobo drivers while removing my nvidia graphics drivers?
Thanks in advance.

It will only remove the driver files and registry setting so if the nforce drivers don't use the same files than it is ok. I don't have an nforce chip so don't know exactly, but i think that nvidia is not so stupid to use the same files so yes you can use it.

Ok. It was just my concern that if you asked it to remove your graphics drivers, it would just do a search for all nvidia drivers and remove them. If it can tell the difference between the nvidia graphics files and the nvidia mobo files, it's all good.
