DH Review: Terratec Aureon Universe 7.1

Stuart has had some time with one of terratecs fabulous products, the Aureon Universe 7.1

"Here at Driverheaven we focus a lot of our review time on hardware like top of the range graphics cards, enthusiast cooling systems and the fastest processors money can buy. These are all hugely important parts of a gaming or multimedia system and the soundcard to be included is often overlooked (im as guilty as anyone). A decent soundcard can make a huge difference to how immersive your experience is when using your uber PC. Today we have one of Terratecs top of the range sound products in for review, the feature packed Aureon 7.1 Universe."

Nice review Stu, I am overdue for a sound card but have not found the reason to update from onboard audio with a 2.1 setup like I have. They appear to offer a very complete, well layed out software package, which would be a nice change from Creative

Seems like a nice card. Creative needs competition and if it wasn't for the kX project drivers prolonging the life of my old Live I would definitely consider this one. Terratec seem quite alright when it comes to driver updating to.

rikhav is on a distinguished road

Hello All
I just subscribed to DRIVERHEAVEN and it seems to be quiet a good community

Well my newly acquired TERRATEC AUREON UNIVERSE 7.1 sound card brings me here. I stay in India and my friend was suppose to get this sound card for me from the USA. I was really eager to have it and it was the best i could find. I have spend quiet a lot on it and now when i have it, I am very disappointed with it

I would appreciated if any one of you can help me out

First of all, how much ever i try the sound just come trough the front speakers. I have connected different amps to the WOOFER, CENTRE & REAR speaker analogue connections at the back of the sound card
And as with other sound cards, for eg. SIGMATEL which i have it onboard on my other PC, there is nothing in the AUREON software to control the crossover frequency between the front speakers and the woofer and other options like "option to send bass either to front speakers or the woofer"
All the other sound cards seem to have all of this in theri software, but AUREON UNIVERSE does not have which leaves me very disappointed

Is there any update which can help me out or anything else you all can suggest?

Thanking you all in advance
