Corsair TX950W PSU Review @ DH

Read The Review here
_____________
Today we bring you the review of the latest and highly anticipated Corsair PSU; the TX950W. We reviewed many units of this series in the past, such as the TX850W and the TX650W, and they always were able to deliver an awesome price to performance ratio to potential customers. The company claims that the TX950W can deliver best-in-class performance at a very reasonable price.

Re: Corsair TX950W PSU Review @ DH

Nice review!

I have a question though (not on particular this review):
Quote:
Finally we are using two more Mastech 8217 multimeters featuring K-type thermocouples to continuously monitor the air temperature at both the intake and the exhaust of the unit we are testing.
Is a K-type thermocouple expensive?

Wikipedia:
Quote:
Thermocouples are a widely used type of temperature sensor for measurement and control[1] and can also be used to convert heat into electric power. They are inexpensive
They don't give a price though ;|

Edit:
Found some, but they are made of all kinds of materials. Which one is best for simple use?

Hello Bolletje,

Not really. You could find a relatively good and simple multimeter which comes with a K-type thermocouple for only 20-25 Euro. Just visit an electronics store, they ought to have some simple models. Make sure you buy a branded device.

Re: Corsair TX950W PSU Review @ DH

Well, I already have a multimeter, and no need of a new one.

I will do further research (:P) this week. I saw some cables and they were like 2-10 euro.

Is your multimeter able to take readings from a temperature sensor though? Not all multimeters can do that. Multimeters are usually limited to electrical applications only. You will need one able to take readings from a temperature sensor, which sensor will most probably be included in its package.

Good point. I think my multimeter doesn't supports it because it's one of the cheapest :P
