Antec Skeleton Review @ DriverHeaven

Read The Review Here

The Skeleton utilises a completely open air design, radically different from a traditional case. Antec has created something more akin to a test bench, attempting to bring the concept to a more mainstream audience. Hopefully the innovative Skeleton can live up to Antecs reputation and prove to be a viable option for enthusiasts and overclockers.

I actually quite like it but with an inquisitive 7 year old with wandering fingers i really dont think it would be safe , shame as thats a real change from the Beige Box

Yeah definitely, its a hugely frustrating product with great potential. The necessary changes are easily do-able as well, especially for a company like Antec.

Re: Antec Skeleton Review @ DriverHeaven

A great review of a product that could have been great....
It's a shame that Antec didn't do a better job with it, a enthusiast open enclosure that won't fit a high end cooler is no good. But I'm sure that Antec will make a second revision of the skeleton, they usually listen to the consumers.

Re: Antec Skeleton Review @ DriverHeaven

I think the Skeleton should have been Antec's cheapest case because it's far too impractical for even the enthusiast crowd. Oh, sure there's going to be people who must try all the latest stuff and they might buy this but very few people will actually stick with such a case design. A lower price would have made it more appealing for use as a testbed for the average user or those looking for an "in between" case.

What exactly went into designing this case which makes it more expensive than the P-182? It's a trick question...we know this case is more of a gimmick than anything else. Someone at Antec thought "Hey, we've done everything else how about we just make a box with a big ass fan on it" to which another Antec employee responded "Sounds great but we'll have to make it uber expensive or people won't want it".

Hear me out for a second.

Let's say Antec manufactured this case so it could be sold for $29-49USD. It could have become the standard as a throwaway case but with the quality of the Antec name. Ordered a bunch of hardware on Newegg but got no way to use it all? Stick in a Skeleton! Want to try building your first computer but you're too timid? Experiment on the Skeleton! It would make a lot more money selling many of these cases for various uses rather than a few for the hardcore crowd.

Re: Antec Skeleton Review @ DriverHeaven

Some good points there OmegaRED

Nice review but as mentioned in the review and in the posts above they should have done a bit more with it. Not sure about the hardcore enthusiasts market but IF this case allowed use of all coolers, large video cards, etc ... it would be on every reviewers workbench including mine
