The one listed on newegg is:

BFGEGTX260MC896OC2E

They are very similar i'm sure but not identical.

it may just be a typo on newegg's part....

the OC2 MaxCore is 630mhz core
the OCX MaxCore is 655mhz core

if you zoom in on the box, the specs state 655mhz OCX

Be nice if a GTX280 was thrown into the mix to compare the price/performance ratio especially against the improved BFG Maxcore. Be interesting to see if it's worth paying the extra £50 for the bigger brother.

Then again I would say that as i'm sitting here scratching my head over which of the two I should buy (260/280).
I plan on keeping one of my 8800GTS cards to handle physics......which had just lead me to think of another point, how would the bfg maxcore 260 compare against my 8800GTS SLI?
Bloody hell, being a computer nerd these days seems a lot more difficult than it used to be.

if you are thinking of the 260 and 280 Levi and have the money, I would go with the 280 GTX. quite a bit more performance from what ive seen. Obviously depends on your wallet.

Decided to do a little research myself Zardon and it appears the BFG 260 maxcore is pretty much like for like with a stock 280 and suprisingly has pulled off a win or two in some benchmarks at some resolutions, I'll not be going any higher than 1920x1200. I can only put this down to the enhanced clockrates. Add to that an average saving of £50-£70 and it makes the choice very difficult. I think the decision could come down to heat produced and wattage.

I know you and the team have limited time/hardware available but i'd have loved to see a few more cards included for comparison. Especially with heat/power/price comparisons which are pretty big factors.

I see a £65 difference between the Maxcore260 and stock 280 in the UK with only a 5% performance difference. The 260+ is the card to buy for sure.
