Re: DH Review: Patriot Xporter XT32 GB

I just got my Patriot Xporter XT8gig in the mail but when I try to use it for Readyboost in Vista it says it isn't fast enough. WTF?! I did some benches with Sisoft and HDTune it appears to be getting the speeds other people reported (about 12-15mb write) so why won't it work?

I have express RMA coverage do you think I should bother to send it back or will this likely be a problem with this model (in the DH review it was stated it barely qualified for readyboost).

Re: DH Review: Patriot Xporter XT32 GB

Readyboost needs a stick that is fast at small nonsequential writes to be effective, which is the achilles heel of all flash memory and most USB sticks are still particularly poor at it. Let it test the stick a couple of times extra and it might eventually qualify, but it probably won't do much good anyway if it's on the edge.
