DH Review: Kingston 19 in 1 Media Reader
Read The Review Here
_________________________
Anyone who knows anything about computer history should be aware of the Kingston brand as for the last twenty years they have been producing memory products. Since their inception in 1987 Kingston have continued to expand and develop their product catalogue from including network and storage devices in 1993 to becoming the first memory manufacturer to co-market memory upgrades with a PC-OEM in 1996. In recent years they have launched Value RAM and HyperX. Excellent business decisions mixed with a quality product range have seen Kingston become a very successful manufacturer. Today we have one of their latest products in our test labs, the Media Reader.

THE fastest memory-card reader on the market. I don't know what trick Kingston pulled out to make this one, but I don't care, because it's faaaaaaaaast.
Bought mine yesterday, together with my Raptor-gaming K1 keyboard, both highly recommendable.

where did you buy it? and for how much? (kingston memory reader). Incidentally I use the Raptor K1 keyboard myself, best keyboard ever made (I use it for work though, love the key feel).

Does it register as a default drive in Windows or does it need drivers?
I need to buy one of these things for myself and get one for someone else. If not this I will probably get a Rosewill I saw 6 months ago on NewEgg that was fast and needed no drivers- if I can still find it.

Edit- I just bought two from the cheapest vendor (including no tax and shipping for two items)
meritline.com
They were 11.99 each, I got two, and shipping for one was about 7 bucks, and for two units it was only one dollar more, total order was about 32 bucks for two card readers.
Thanks for review... I got two..

LOL- I should have waited at least one day before posting that place. My order has been on back order since I placed it, but when I made the order they were definitely not out of stock. Their new date is Feb 8.
Here's the latest email-letter:
Quote:
Dear Valued Customer,
First of all, we would like to thank you for your purchase. We are sorry to inform you that item xxxxxxxxxxxxx in your order is currently on back order due to unexpected large demand. The ETA will be on 02/08/2008. Please contact us for your decision whether you want to wait until 02/08/2008. We apologize for the inconvenience and we thank you for your patience and understanding.
Again, we appreciate your shopping with us, even with this mess, we still want you would possibly have a pleasant shopping experience with Meritline.com as we tried very hard to make it up as you can see. Looking forward to your earlier response.

I hope I didn't screw myself.. Or maybe I over-estimate the power of posting that retailer on a public forum like this? I dunno.. I told them I will wait anyway.. :-)

Sorry for the slow answer :P
I bought it at a danish store for 6€ or something like that
And it register as a default drive without any drivers and if you want, you can install a small extra driver, which sets icons on the drives.
