DH Review: Razer Tarantula Keyboard

Read The Review Here

At Driver Heaven we spend a lot of time in front of PC’s and because of this our components such as keyboards and mice, even headphones, have to be decent quality. Having peripherals which perform well and feel comfortable is essential if you are an enthusiast. It says a lot about Razer that the systems at the desk I work on daily use Razer mice, a DeathAdder and a Diamondback. In addition to this a Barracuda headset can also be found hanging from my chair arm. These components all far exceeded our expectations when we first used them and turned out to be best in their class.

Great review! Thinking about getting one of these, but not completely sure about it yet, because my desk has a holder for keyboards and that holder isn't to big

Anyway the part about taking time getting used to it. I have actually tried that on a lot of keyboards, because i normally use very compact keyboards, where they keys are moved around a bit. From my expirence it takes no more then 1-2 weeks getting used to, but I guess thats depend on the person.

hasnt this keyboard has been replaced by a newer model?
i have one & agree with the overall review. great 'feel' & bulid quality.
2 things anybody considering buying might want to consider - the on board flash mem is pretty much useless. unlike my death adder mouse wich can have profile stored on board(meaning it acts the same way if used on another comp) the mem in the keyboard only works when drivers are installed & setup. pissed me of cause i thiought it would be just like my mouse & i could pack it over to my buds house & hook it up to one of his comps when we lan.
2nd, unless you are a touch typist(then the only reason you would need it is for the debatable coolnes factor) do not get the battlelight. it is a waste of $$ imo. it only covers the keys from s to page up/down & moves way to easily - i tilt it some times to get a better view of a keyboard area & any sort of light bump to the keyboard jostles it. wich means you are kinda screwed if you are like me & cant touch type & like to play in very low light conditions. the lettering on the keys are quite a bit 'darker' than usual.
while i like the 'action' & looks of this keyboard more than my wifes g15, i think the g15(havent tried the newest vers yet) is probably a better overall board. jmo.
