I doubt you will be finding any sweet deals soon and if you do happen to find one in stock be prepared to fork out more money. Newegg has already jacked up there EVGA SSC version by $20 was $309.99 now its $329.99 and the funny thing is you can get the same card at EVGA website for only $299.99

Hot and noisy. Single slot cooling just doesn't work today.

Thanks for the review!

I have a few questions regarding the 8800GT fans.

1. The Zotac AMP seems to have a different fan design. But what is it exactly up to, more fan blades, bigger fan, more/less noise...?

2. How loud is it comparing to the reference card's fan. Does it ramp up under load in a closed case?

3. What kind of temperatures are you getting with the Zotac AMP card?

Thanks again!!

Greetings

HI,

The Zotac has a couple of extra blades but is a similar size. Noise levels were the same for all of the cards we tested apart from when the system was posting, at that time the XFX and asus went to full speed for a few seconds.

I have the Zotac running in a case at the moment (cooler master cosmos) and I never hear it. Temperatures are about 60c idle. Up to 85c load.
