System Specs

FS: 3000+ 939 venis core retail box (overclockable)

FS: 3000+ 1.8 Ghz socket 939 venis core retail box

Had never been over clocked I always ran it stock. But I know many of
you might be intrested on how well or if it over clocks. I myself am
not big on overclocking....But non the less I upped the voltage a little
and put the FSB @ 234mhz I then ran prime 95 for a hour fallowed by
3dmark01 and 05 and everything is stable... I would test higher but I
don't trust my board to do much higher.... but at that speed it was up
to 2.1ghz stable with the stock cooler and surely had more room to go
especailly with a better board or better cooling.

Why my selling?
I upgaded my second system and no longer need this CPU

What do I want for it?
$92 shipped to your door (with in the contenental USA )

It retail box (as I said in my listing), its the CPU, the retail cooler, and I still
have the box which is what I'll ship it in or course replaced in a bigger box
& packing peanuts...

I figured I leave it installed untill some one was going to buy it othe wise
I'd get you a photo with no problem. Let me pull it and I'll hook you up with
an photo. For now here is is the CPUID readout from it (with everything
running stock)....

Why do people leave out the unique number on a CPU like its some sort of secret that can get a casual onlooker something?

Not that is high risk, but just like you wouldn't advertise your
email by posting it (an onslought of spam would soon fallow)
It not the best of Ideas to post you hardwares id's mac adresses etc..

Specifically how would somebody use a CPUs serial number against you or to his own advantage (financial or otherwise)?

This bordering thread crapping but i'll byte

intels implmention started up quite the sh*** storm with the P3
http://www.cdt.org/privacy/issues/pentium3/ and sturred up
of couse cyrex fallowed suit (AMD didn't)...

another could be someone selling a bunk CPU sure might like to
slap a legit serial number on there. Or some one with a out of
warrenty CPU and is crafty might be able to remark thier cpu etc..

there are reasons. even if unfounded based on the old intel deal
people value thier privacy rights not to mention every thing
you put out on the web is out there "FOREVER" all the pages on the
internet even as simple as this as this post is caches in many diffrent
places and archived and so forth...

lets get back on topic

There is a clear difference between an A64 Venice and a P3 when it comes to unique identification though. The P3's unique ID was a readable register inside the CPU itself that any program could pull if it so desired. In an A64, there is no such register.

Please don't take this the wrong way TNC. I'd seen others blurring out and ommitting the serial number in similar situations and was curious if there was something going on with them I was not privy to. I suspect now that its just a result of one person doing it, then another etc. Nothing wrong with that of course, you're perfectly free to do what you want with your ad. And hey at least your thread is staying nice and bumped
