Pinnacle PCTV with no sound
I'm running winXP sp1, audigy player, tried with kxdrv3528 and 3526, no sound in pinnacle pctv software nor in Dscaler (Dscaler report: no audio device found)
is there anything I can do to get sound? Please help
I have sound in winamp, zoomplayer and games.
Is this a line-in issue?

I have sound in both too... the no audio device in dscaler is not an audio card device, but an audio chip device on the tv card (msp3471 or something like that)
what you need to do is goto in/out section, there, unmute ac97, then, in the ac97 section, unmute line in, or aux (depending how you conected the tv card to the soundcard) (and dont forget to choose either stereomix, or aux/line in as the ac97 source)
If this doesn't work, then, chekck if the tv card actually does produce sound (use normal headphones in the audio output, at the back of the tv card)
if you dont get sound there too, then this is an issue with the tv card... (in dscaler 4, try setting audio source to tuner, might be it then)

Hi, I had the same problem with the pc tv card/program and changing the in/outs settings and the ac97 settings gave me sound but now the volume on the pc tv program is unresponsive. I was wondering if anyone knew anyway to fix this...
I'm assuming it has to be fixable by doing something in the dsp linking but I have no idea what to do.
Any hints/solutions?
(I know its a padantic point but I liked being able to turn down the volume in the program itself

How does your TV card connect to the sound card?
Usually it is via line in, so (if that is the case) you should unmute the AC97 In slider on the Ins and Outs page of kxmixer, and select Line In as the AC97 source on the AC97 page of kxmixer.
Also, if you wish to be able to control the volume from within you TV software, see the following thread: New: Plugins for use with kX0/KX1 sliders in the Windows Mixer

Hello Russ, thanks for your answer, but isn't my case. I use Pinnacle Studio 11 to elaborate and mound my own film made by camcorder and acquired via firewire. With many other programs such us windows media player I can hear the sound, instead with Pinnacle is mute. I've tried all what I could try but....no sound. At the end, I've had re-abilited the onboard sound card to have the possibility to use the program. With sound blaster and Kx driver results as no sound card.

OK, so you are talking about the audio from the program, and not audio from some TV card?
I am guessing that Pinnacle Studio 11 (or a codec that it uses?) allows you to choose which wave device to use for playback (independent of the setting in the Windows Control Panel)... Make sure that it is set to use kX Wave 0/1.

I've searched everywhere into the program, but it seems don't allow to choose nothing about sound card. This is a limit of Pinnacle Studio..Thanks anyway Russ for your help
Ciao
