back to KX after 2 years - no ASIO

I last used KX drivers back in Dec 2003. Back then, I had an Audigy MP3+ and loved using the card for music once I discoved the kx drivers. Prior to that, I used an SB Live under Win98SE and the old APS Live drivers. I've finally bought another SBLive to replace the creaky yamaha card I had and promptly installed the KX drivers on my pc (P3-850/640MB RAM/Win2000 SP4/Cubase VST 5.1R4/Reason 2.5/FL Studio 5) and noticed the following:

When I try to enable KX ASIO under Cubase, I get an error stating "kX ASIO Initr error: no error". Doesn't matter if I try using 44.1KHz or 48KHz.

After getting ASIO to work once (it hasn't worked since), I noticed I can't select 44.1KHz like I could back in 03 unless I use Direct X ASIO.

Anyone have any ideas? Why was 44.1KHz disabled?

<edit> forgot to add that I'm using ver 3537 of the driver.

The mp3+ card is not compatible with the kX-driver, check the compatibility list on www.kxproject.com
and kX-asio 3537 only works on 48kHz for recording, due to the locked 10k1 and 10k2 chips.

System Specs

TravelRec, IIRC the MP3+ model of the Audigy was simply the SB0090 with a software bundle reflecting the name, like the Gamer edition was bundled with more games than normal

the Soundblaster MP3+ was the external usb one and not supported

But as for the original problem Logic7, make sure you set hardware acceleration to full in the windows sound control panel

10KX DSPs are sample rate locked at 48Khz.. KX driver doesnt use a Sample rate convertor like CL drivers do and While 44Khz playback is possible - Im pretty sure for recording it is not. (ASIO is definitly not possible with out sample rate conversion to match what 'format' is selected in KX ASIO control panel.)
