Can anyone help me ?
I'm trying to run 2 (*two*) SBLive!s simultaneously to get a 2xStereo recording box. Unfortunately, the second card does tiny slip (about ~300ms) at the (magical) 65'th second while recording. So, only the first 65 seconds are good (in-sync). Finally I did a test : two metronomes, one at the 1'st card and second at the 2'nd SBLive, 100ppm. The failure (slip) happens at the 65'th second ! What is this ? Configuration: 2xSBLive! 5.1 Digital, SB220 (both the same), Pentium-IV 1.7GHz, i845, 256Mb RAM, 80Gb HDD; Fresh Windows XP SP1 (not SP2), kX driver: stable 3536. There are no hardware conflicts (as reported by SiSoft Sandra). Both cards works just fine separately. I did about 50 hours of recording as 1xStereo in this configuration without any troubles. Unfortunately, it's impossible to use 2xSBLive simultaneously ! I tested it with Vegas 2.0h (most lite multitrack recorder) and with huge Audition 1.5. No difference, slip at the same evil 65'th second ! So, it seems, there is problem in the kX driver... |

How are your sound cards connected? You must connect them in a master/slave configuration using SPDIF out from the slave card into CD digital in on the other. Do a search in the Forum. You will find lots of information regarding your set-up.

through 2 seperate cards 'audio driver'. That never works, simply because the crystal oscilators (one each on every card), are never running in sync and are drifting. This has nothing to do with kX drivers nor CL cards. All soundcards that do not run from *one* clock will drift. The right solution here is to record/playback through one card set as master, the other hooked up via SPDIF as slave. (just as peate mentioned) This way you can have 2 stereo recording inputs perfectly in sync..! (and more) This works perfectly with kX and every kX compatible CL card. /LeMury |

I've found a thread and URL Link two Live!s http://www.usfamily.net/web/4stories...X-NTRACK-2SCS/ Unfortunately, I still can't understand howto interconnect two SB0220 (this model has no 40-pin connector). Is there a method to check a sync source (internal/external) for the SLAVE card ? P.S. Yes. This is not-a-bug. |

Someone else at this forum may have already identified the pins on the SB220, if not here is a discussion at another forum. Looks like they MAYBE have identified the pins
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?p=483872 Let us know how it comes out. |
