What have I done to my soundcard...?

I´m sorry if this is a wrong place for this thread, I´m not actually reporting a bug, I have a question about kx.

For a while, kx was just great. But then, after running windows chkdisk (or scandisk, at the startup), kx refused to operate. I mean that no sounds were available, anywhere. Well, I decided to unistall kx and return to the normal drivers. I ran kx uninstaller, installed sb live driver -pack; still no sounds. The Creative Surround mixer, for example, claims that I have no sound device installed (device manager says that I have). Any good hints? (other than "get smarter newbie!"). I´m looking for a way to restore my soundcard to the state it was before the kx installation.

I´m using Sb live value and win xp. Kx was 3534.

Have you tried putting it in a different PCI slot? Don't know why this works but it sometimes does.

Hi!

If kX was running before and now not anymore - then I believe that your system is damaged anyhow. I doubt it has something to do with kX if creative also doesn´t work. Try to save your data, re-format your harddisk, make a fresh installation of XP and kX 3537 and see, whether it works again. Sorry, but for me it seems, there is no other solution, since scandisc appearance has almost a good (or bad!) reason.

grr just typed out a massive long post then accidently closed window

read this maybe ? or at least first few pages

dont think your problem was kx but sounds like wot the above thread is on about.

this is the reason i am on kx drivers because they actually will install
try and reinstall them and they should work fine its only creative drivers and stuff wont install.
summit to do with your cards plug and play id being corrupted and showing up to the system as not wot it should be.
