Rear output issues and the new AC97 codecs
Creative Labs has released several audio cards this year, which are not fully compatible with the present kX Driver versions. Most of the new cards contain 'new' AC97 codecs which aren't properly supported.
In order to help kX Team in the development, please check your software/hardware configuration (displayed in the 'About...' dialog), and search the following line: 'Ext Capabilities [...]: -PCM center DAC- -PCM surround DAC- -PCM LFE DAC-' If you find something similar, please note AC97 codec name (such as: 'Codec name: Unknown AC97 codec [83847658]' If your codec is recognized as 'unknown', please post to this forum thread your card name (as written on the board, top-right corner), board name as detected by kX Mixer (bottom-right corner), ac97 codec name and ext capabilities. thanks in advance.
