NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD error - KX not loading completely - HELP!!!

Right now, my music PC is silent. The KX Drivers have not loaded completely.

I have an SBLive Platinum 5.1 card with the Live Drive front panel I/O
Win98SE
AMD Athlon 1.2 GHz
256 MB RAM

I downloaded the latest KXDriver install package, KXDRV3537-Full.EXE and installed to the default location, after removing everything for my SBLive card.

Several hiccups during installation that happen every single time.

What am I doing wrong?

In the Device Status box for the KX it says that I have model SB0060, perhaps my card is different than that? How would I know.

Also, the error states: The NTKKERN>VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader could not load this device (Code 2) To fix this, click update driver

I've done that and each time I point to the 3537 directory under KXProject and it loads the same driver, resulting in the same error - over and over again.

HELP PLEASE!!

HeLO...

I think the SoLuTioN to my FaMiLiaR PRoBLeM was this...

- Find the FiLE "kx98.sys"...it is in DiR where kX PRoJeCT is installed...exactly ..\3537\kx98.sys

- Find FiLE "kx.sys" Not the one in ..3537\ DiR...but one in ...\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\kx.sys

- Copy&Rename "kx98.sys" to "kx.sys" in ..\DRIVERS\ DiR...

- Reboot

It worked on my Win98SE...

Yes,

I actually did that months ago and have had KX working fine for the past 5 months.

Thanks for your concern.

Described procedure works for all of Win98SE and kX v. 37
Please ensure you have followed all the steps carefully.

>The NTKKERN>VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader could not

this shows that it is still wrong kx.sys in /system32/drivers/

I'm having exactly the same problem. Win98SE, SBLive!5.1 Platinum. Both my C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS and my C:\Program Files\kX Project\3537 directories contain both kx.sys and kx98.sys; all four files are identical.

My Device Manager / General tab says: "The NTKERN.VXD, MMDEVLDR.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2.)" I also get the boot-up error message about the inability to load the drivers.

Other than that, the installation (done several times!) appears to proceed normally.

Can anyone help, please?

Thanks --
