Try running kxctrl.exe -mrc in cmd (In the kx folder), then restarting the mixer. Clear it and re-init and it should reset the defaults.

x64 version seems to have problems loading settings on vista- I can't load any saved configs, and it messes up on reboot as well.

Re : x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

Hi,

It seems i have random bug. Sometime, the sound gets very noisy. When it hapened, changing some settings don't have effect (set speaker output for example). Rebooting computer does not always restore the sound. This problem encourages me to return to Creative drivers.

I use Audigy 2 ZS and XP x64 (SP2), 4 Gb of RAM.

Ответ: x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

Hi all,

I am experiencing a severe memory leak on
  • Vista x64 Enterpise // SP1 and now SP2 after update
  • 10k1 // SB Live 5.1
  • 4G of RAM // haven't encountered any other issues mentioned above except for UAC-related stuff

I can't provide a reliable usage case to reproduce the issue as it happens when doing random editing at the DSP panel (removing a component or accessing its properties etc.). The issue leads to instant swapping, massive CPU usage and a 90% deadly hangup.

The latest accident surprisingly didn't crash the system and i've recorded a peak memory usage for kX Mixer process around 16 G, then it dropped to 8 G. Nevertheless, the system crashed on printscreen

Sorry for the lack of details, I don't have a debug cable and/or enough time to dig deeper.

Re: x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

CT4832 no sound in FXBUS 2/3, 4/5 ,6/7 , I had use a peak to test it .
and I use this driver in Win7 RC 7100 x64 , and the AC97(mic or other) peaked but I hear nothing,so peak test it ,and shown the "machine-gun" Graphics.
I think this is caused due to 4GB memory.
And I will try your new release which I hope it will work fine.

[Edit]... Ok..it works with 2GB memory...

Re : x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

HI,
i'm experiencing weird bug with media player classic. if i enqueue 2 mp3 files. the first can be played, but not the second. i have to play with windows sound properties: i have to choose another "Wave Out x/y" and set it to default and click play. if i'm lucky, i have sound, otherwise i have to choose another "wave out" and test... until i hear music in speakers.

Computer:
- E8400 on P5Q, 2g Ram
- POV gtx260-216c
- SB0100 (that's what is written on the pcb, but recognized as SB0102)
- Pinnacle PCTV RAVE

Edit:
- Computer running Vista ultimate x64 sp1, of course!
- I suppose a bug in media player classic. It works fine with win media player 11.0.6001.7000 !!! It also works while Dscaler running (television app).
- I installed Dead Space, sound works.

Default Post Ответ: x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

UPD: kXMixer Memory Leak

The leak is a overflow at the stack area in the kXMixer main thread (but AFAIK it is not caused by stack operations).
The call stack suggests that the leak is somehow connected with MS common controls TrackBar control.
Accessing properties of FXMix2 and StereoMix trigger the issue, and these plugins do have a trackbar. So it seems plausible.

The loop at DoAutoTics proc in COMCTL32.dll receives 0x7FFFFFFF as upper bound for the loop variable and fills memory with 0x7FFFFFFF * DWORD = 8Gb crap.

Some listings attached.
I can provide any additional details if needed.

BTW, i also face the existence of the bug with default settings after reboot.

Re: x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

Not sure if this is related to this driver release, or to an error setting up the driver on my end, but here's the issue:
I have to set surrounder+ to 5.1 (copy or on, off won't work) to get the full spectrum of sound on my 2.1 speaker system and headphones. (headphone in center/subwoofer jack, 2.1 speakers in rear speakers jack, output to tv speakers in front speaker jack. I switch the output to tv or 2.1 speakers depending on what i'm doing with the swap front/rear toggle.)

vista x64, original audigy

Re: x64 - 3546 - bugs and issues

That's because by default the DSP isn't configured correctly. I had to use 5.1 profile as well to have sound working from back channels until I made 2.1 work by properly connecting the DSP stuff.
