When I click "install" bottom, popup a windows like this:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3183/...2277ef66_o.jpg
but my card is "Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro"
I didn't remove 3538 before installing 3541, I just download 3541 and double click it.

In any case, I would suggest completely removing kX (use DriverCleaner Pro or a similar app), and do a clean install of 3541.
You might also try booting Windows in Safe Mode and check Device Manager for any phantom devices (i.e. extra sound cards listed that you do not have, etc).
If after doing the above, kX setup still shows the wrong device name/model number, you might try answering yes, and letting kX finish installing, and then after rebooting, see what device name is shown by kX Mixer (i.e. in case it is just a bug with the setup applet (only) showing the wrong name). Let us know how you make out.

That sounds like an error with the kX Skin, did it give any more info (like which image or button)?
When/where did you see this error?
Did you modify the kX skin, or are you using a different skin?
What model sound card do you have?

Neither of those are 5.1 models (mine is SB0228), so the mapping issue shouldn't effect you.

Dear Russ
I and many of my friend use CT4830 and still have ASIO mapping issue since 3539 (or maybe earlier).
It's the situation:
8+8 mode:
00 -> 00
01 -> NC
02 -> NC
03 -> 03
04 -> 04
05 -> 05
06 -> 06
07 -> 07
16+16 mode:
00 -> 14
01 -> 15
02 -> 00
03 -> 01
04 -> 02
05 -> 03
06 -> 04
07 -> 05
08 -> 06
09 -> 07
10 -> 08
11 -> 09
12 -> 10
13 -> 11
14 -> 12
15 -> 13

I do not know, AFAIK, the issue only effects 5.1 models.
What plugins are you using in the DSP?
Note that ProFX:ASIO and epilog use a different numbering scheme, and that some ASIO host programs use a different numbering scheme from kX.
What does kX's 'About...' window show for the Hardware/Software configuration for your card?

I experienced this problem for a very long time. I usually followed the following steps (perform the next step only the previous one did not fix the problem):
1. Run MIDI file for 10-20 seconds (with a lot of notes)
2. In WinAmp, open any MP3 and quickly move the audio pointer [in 'kX Voice Analyzer' you will see that the voices are shifting to the right]
3. Close any audio applications, type 'kxctrl -reset'
4. Disable/Enable device in the DevMan (unload kX Mixer first!)
5. Reboot

Hi Eugene,
Thank you for an amazing project, I am using it in my carputer to drive a complicated active front stage and subwoofer utilizing all 7.1 channels!
I am experiencing the same issues with the Audigy2 ZS Notebook as the rest of us (audio randomally stops, high pitched noise playing instead of a track and issues when returning from hibernation).
Additionally I am unable to get the side channels to work. In the PCMCIA version you get these channels by using a special mini jack to 3xRCA cable instead of 2xRCA for the black and pink jacks. The Creative A/V cable is unattainable so I'm using the cable that is sold for the Microsoft Zune MP3 Player which has the same pinouts as the A2ZS NB.
I'd appreciate any help as well as insights to why this is happening.
Cheers,
Moran

The bundled version of ProFx is an older version, download the current version here:
NEW: ProFx (3538) Update Incl. MX6 and AC97
Note: ProFx:AC97 is called ProFx:ADC in the current version.

Actually I used the ProFX 3.08 for a while. I try to use the old one because the recently ASIO mapping issue on my 4830 (with ProFX), so I think maybe I should use only the bundled. On another hand, I found I can use ADC with epilog to get the benefit from ProFX and avoid the ASIO mapping issue, the problem is there will be two components can control AC97 (ADC and epilog). Do you have any suggestion on this?
Thanks~~

There is no problem with using ADC with epilog (epilog does not really control AC97, it just allows you to record it... just do not connect ADC to the RecL/RecR pins of epilog, and enable the AC97 recording level slider in kxmixer at the same time... And if you are using ADC, do not make changes on the AC97 page of kxmixer).

So, can I use ADC with epilog and check the "Reset AC97" on the AC97 page?
Another question is - If I use ADC or SRC with epilog, is it still bit-accurate? (on 3543)
Thanks again

Well you can, but then ADC might get out of sync with the actual settings (until you redo the settings in ADC).
Again, it is best to not touch the AC97 page of kxmixer when using ADC (i.e. one of the purposes of ADC is so that you do not have to use kxmixer).
Whether you use epilog or not really makes no difference (for either question).
In any case, this thread is for bug reports, you really should use another part of the forum for any questions, etc.
