It seems that the Wave volume in kX mixer is out of sync with the Windows mixer.
i.e.
When Wave is muted in Windows mixer it is unmuted in kX (no wave sound), but when it is unmuted in Windows mixer (Wave sound works), it is muted in kxmixer (so kx mixer cannot be used to control wave volume (and it is muted in Windows mixer by default)). Can anyone else verify this (before I reinstall kX)? <Thanks for the verification osm0sis >
It seems the default DSP config (DSP connections) was not updated for updated Surrounder+ code, so it shows an extra pin for 10k1 cards (as older Surrounder+ had an extra pin), although it does appear to be using the newer code. Unloading/reloading Surrounder+ works correctly.
The skin file was not attached to FxRouter again
(SB0228 on WinXP)
<edit>
All of the above is fixed in 3541
</edit>

I can verify the out-of-sync problem; was just about to report it myself. Though I must add, it's great to be able to use the Windows mixer at all in a new kX version again.
Also, I forgot to mention that another two default Windows mixer columns "kX1 / MicIn" and "kX0 / LineIn" don't appear to correspond to anything in either the Ins-And-Outs, Recording or AC97 pages of the kX Mixer. Is this another bug, or is there something I'm missing here?
I'm using a SB0220.

I do not know if they are supposed to do something different in 3540, but this is normal behavior for (some) earlier kX versions. i.e. You had to use kX Console to assign those sliders to a plugin in order to use them. I have not tested this functionality in 3540 myself as of yet. <edit> Tested with kX0, and it appears to work same as it did previously. </edit>

Ah, I see. I had just assumed that they would tie in to their corresponding slider in kX Mixer, ie. "kX1 / MicIn" to the "AC97 In" etc. where the Mic sound comes from.
But now I see that LineIn is also in the AC97 page.. so perhaps that's why?

I am not sure what you mean... That slider was there previously...
In any case, we should try and leave this thread for bug related stuff only, other questions, etc should probably be made in a new thread.

There is one (new) "other" mixer device "SPDIF/AC3 Output", and programs no longer seem to offer SPDIF output as an option, and as such I cannot use kX for AC3 decoding. I suspect that 10k2 users may have a similar problem with AC3 Passthru, etc. (can anyone confirm this?).
(SB0228 on WinXP)
i.e.
PowerDVD shows "SPDIF Output Device: Not Detected" and thus does not give that option.
VLC no longer shows the A/52 Over SPDIF option, etc.

I can also confirm this on a SB0350 in Server 2003. Also, the volume level is inverted, when in windows control pannel its fully to the top and unmited, in kx its muted and at the bottom. 3DSE is not working either, i have Off/Low/Normal/High and selecting any of them, makes no diffrence and going to another pannel and back again resets it to off, it worked in 3438m

3DSE does work for me (verified by reading the AC97 registers in kX Console), but kX always shows it as OFF after the page is refreshed.
<edit>
3541 fixes the issue of 3DSE setting not being shown correctly in kxmixer (with my card anyway).

initially No Sound at all with 3540 driver. 3539 wo9rked before and after.
eventually I found that the WAV slider in the windows volume control was Muted. Confirming the reversed sense of WAV slider and MUTE between kX mixer and Windows volume, also loss of sound whenever KX Wav control is touched. Ouch.

For Audigy2ZSNotebook the input selector on Mixer page (Mic/Line) still behaves reversed, as in 3539 before. The analog Line input on A2ZSNB is around 8db lower than the real signal feeded in. No other problems so far... Since I use a custom DSP setup with ProFX, the sound is present just after installing the new package.
