>If I insert an effect like reverb ... garbled

That just shows general weakness of PCMCIA bus (effects like reverb use main pc ram and load the bus with another transfers)

Wow, I didn't know that. I have no such problems with my super cheap laptop. I assume that this is done with DMA transfers?

Laptop is a P3 1.2G with 256 Ram. So I guess I won't be able to use effects in the audio input chain?

it is not about gigahertzs or megabytes - it is about PCMCIA bus.

Only DSP effects that use xTRAM would be a problem, as xTRAM is implemented in host memory. Other DSP effects should be OK.

System Specs

I have a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo Pro v2035 (1.6ghz, 512mb ram ddr2).i`m willing to buy a ZSNB but the only ones i found in my city are the 24bit models. Is the kx driver gonna work on this model?i dont have a great financial status so i dont wanna risk buying one and not be able to use it like i am using the sb live on my desktop. The only i thing i need is the outputs to work (asigning each soundcard to whatever output i want) and be able to load an equalizer and 2 or 3 Timbers. Will it work flawlessly ?

Installation procedure works OK

So, there I bought my card today and inserted in Lap, installed KX project program without drivers, replaced kx.sys in install directory, installed, reboot and works.

For me what i need it works super and sound is clear.

Thanks.

does anyone have issues with their music sounding like noise/feedback after playing several mp3s? it occurs randomly, but always at the beginning of a new track. it can only be fixed by rebooting...

Estarriol, I'm sorry, didn't manage to test it, it was all made very quick, so i only worked in DJ Traktor on card, and i've borrowed laptop, but i still have card, so when I get laptop, i'll play with mic then, really sorry

Another thing is that i noticed when I was pre-listening songs in traktor, I've heard some quiet noisy thing, it's sound from HDD, when he kinda loads up song in (for example) player 1 i've heard that sound, it was quiet, but still hearable.
Only thing that i've noticed wrong, all other stuff worked fine that I've needed to work.
Thanks for help.

I have the same problem with the Audigy 2ZS notebook. WinXP pro with kx3539. Reboot seems necessary to get it working again.

Running RMAA 5.5 the frequency response loopback test for 96KHz sample rate, the response drops sharply from 20KHz. Does nayone else have this problem? All other sample rates work fine. The sound is much better than the original drivers.

I think the ZSNB and kx drivers should work. Mine has sound, but don't know whether the other functions work or not.

I think I have the DSP connection right, but the loopback frequency response really looks bad. I would appreciate any pointers.

The MIC and LINE inputs still seem reversed.

Currently my observations are:
1. Different sample rates require different anti-aliasing filters. The Kx driver does not seem to be switching in the filter for 96KHz sampling, and thus the measurements are the same as 48KHz sampling.
2. The Creative driver seems to be having trouble with 24bit 96KHz sampling, but not 24bit 48KHz and 16bit 96KHz sampling. It seems that the output buffer and/or input buffer are not set to suffeciently large size. The Kx driver does not seem to have this problem since there is a vast variety of selection available.

I tried going back to 3538m,result is almost the same, only it takes longer to happen

we currently do not support native 24/96 mode for Audigy2 zs notebook
that's because the p16v component responsible for 24/96 content has been replaced with p17v, which is not compatible with our driver

exclamation more BLEEEPS please.....

i have some new info about this bleepysilent bug..

first time it was only bleep.. next 3 times it was suddenly silent..
someone writes that the only solution is to reset pc, for me replugged card solve this.... but today, i noticed it's not needed

i left my card playing about 10 hours, i was curious what happen.... for my surprise, it was still ok.... but when i selected next track and listened closely, there is very noticeable CLICK between selected tracks.... so i've start playing around with foobar & BOOM... BLEEEP ok, very nice bleep.. i like it! so i selected some next tracks.... and there are different bleeps, between 800-2000Hz or SILENCE....... after about 20 times it was suddenly BACK... everything was FINE as before.. so when it happens, i just select some next tracks & its ok

i'm using version 3541 on xp sp3....

you can play through kernel streaming to fix the beepy thing (keep it from happening)... works for me

for me not. fb KS/ASIO out.. >> it was the same! (but i'll give it another shot..)

it seems, that increased kX playback buffer can help (OR prolong playback time), but i'm not sure..

the only simple solution to solve this problem was to continuously press next/play butt. (OR to select some different positions of track) till bleeps end. thats all, what i discovered for now

atm i'm usin 3542b
- actually i noticed new problem with this version > when i try to change Tank Memory Size it always revert back to "none"

I am using 3541b (see this thread a2value, a4, zsnb users - please test!)... I have all my buffers set to max (tank ram also does not work on my card tho...)
other settings that may be important:
in foobar, using kernel streaming, have been using 24 bit playback; and also I am using Resampler (Secret Rabbit Code) to resample to 48khz

I notice that 24 bit playback seems important because I just tried it at 16 bit and after a bit of seeking it started beeping again... I figured out the 24 bit thing a long time ago and forgot i did it so heres the story: I noticed that the beeping had to do with the hardware voices (see the lowest option on the left within the kx mixer) after changing voices so many times it seemed to begin beeping, at 24 bit this still happens but there are 4 voices used instead of 2... seems to keep it from beeping. Eugene would know more, all i know is that I have used my laptop for a few 2.5 hour drives from st cloud mn to fargo nd going to school and have had no issues running KS/24bit/48khz

EDIT: I am using a thinkpad x60t (tablets rock for surfin the web!) with the evil (problematic) "Ricoh R/RL/5C476(II) or Compatible Cardbus Controller" PCMCIA bus controller... so my laptop is one of the 'afflicted' ones... definately try 24 bit, best of luck!
