Counter Strike: Source - PC freezing

Hi,

Sometimes when I play CSS the game freezes, the sound stutters (repeats the last half of a second of sound) and then there's a *beep* sound.
Then I have to reboot the PC.

It *seems* (not 100% shure) to help if I reseat the SB card. That is, if I take it out and then rescrew it again. I think this may be helpful, because I had similar problems already. But anyway, this (maybe) solution doesn't last long.

I mean, if the PCI card was not perfectly seated, then the PC would freeze at any time, right?
But it ONLY freezes when playing CSS. Not necessarily when playing (shooting, running), also in the menu, soon after I start the game.

I really don't know what could be the cause. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

BTW, I tried checking the "filter all EAX requests" but it was the same.

Hmm, I UCed my GPU now and it hasn't freezed so far. So this might be the source of the problems, after all.

I wasn't taking the GPU overheating in consideration, because I have good ventilation in my case.
The maximum temps were around 80 C, which is not very high, right? I mean the warnings and auto-slow down begins only at 125 C, that's why I think so.

The card is a 5200 ultra.

So, if it's not overheating, then it could be that the PSU is not giving the card sufficient power. Is there any other possible cause?

Such problems are typically due to a problem with the driver for the video card. Try using a different driver.
