light clicks in releaseing sounds ASIO Audigy 2ZS NB
I have a problem on Audigy 2 ZS Notebook (SB0530 ZS NB).
Asio playback and Headphones plugged in. When the sound source (Reaktor or Absynth) makes a sound and the sound releases I will hear clicks and light crackles as soon as the sound level droppes below some threshold. Maybe this is some kind of DA converter going to standby if the sound source produces digital zero values ?!? Does anybody else have this problem ? Many thanks Mark |

It seems the same bugs from 3538j relating to AC-3 decoding are still evident. It is still rather random and will crackle and pop in and out after a while, but for some reason, if I open up firefox, it kills the crackling, makes it play normally, and then I can play for hours with no problem. The sound is also delayed until that crackling/popping starts, at which point I open up firefox and then the sound is in synch for the first time also. Not sure what it is, but AC-3 decoding is unstable until that crackling point at which I can do SOMEthing(opening firefox) to fix the whole thing. This is when using the SPDIF optical in to decode sound from my Xbox360.

The bug with disabling the "Show window content while dragging" option (where the context menu's would not be shown) that was in previous kX versions appears to be fixed (for the most part) in 3538k. However, occasionally (disabling) it causes the context menu in the DSP to open like an inch to the side of the mouse, instead of directly under/over the mouse like it normally does. Not really a big deal, as it doesn't cause any problems, it just looks a bit strange when it happens.

I guess this might not be related directly to this release, since I had the same problem when installing 3538j. The ASIO Control Panel, and its channels are gone. I tried uninstalling kx Project and drivers using driver cleaner, but it hasn't helped.
The rest of the package seems to work fine, but all ASIO is missing, what could be going on? I'm using an old AMD K6 along with a old SoundBlaster Live! (4670 or 4760, can't remember which, the one with the oldest live!drive)

I cannot think of anything else that would cause that at the moment, sorry...
<edit> The only related thread I know of, is this one (and the person ended up reinstalling Windows to fix it). </edit> Last edited by Russ; Aug 29, 2006 at 01:40 PM. |

3538 I/J/K: Noise level on input LINE3 above acceptable value!
A month ago I bought a new synth module and started to use the line3 input om my SB0280 module. It all seems to work well, however sometimes the noise level goes sky high for no apparent reason. I disconnected the synth, tried other versions of the driver. Nothing seems to work. For example the last time after a system start, levels were high. A lot of noise comes out of the speaker (50/45dB). The only thing I did was power down the system and power up again. Then levels were at normal values (80/85dB). Sometimes this happens at other times when working with the card through software. It looks as if the KX driver forgets to initialize registers in the DSP?! I haven't got a clue. Reloading settings from a file or setting the unit to it's defaults does not elliminate the problem. Muting the LINE3 input kills all the noise. This seems to be an old bug?? Still it is a major one!
