my ati bench

cos nobody answers my desperate call in the other thread. ill post this here:

i dont get this benchmarking...

this is at stock.
378/338

this one is when i checked what the max would be without artifacts.
395/378

but what i dont get is, my score is so much lower then what the 'normal' score is with my videocard. the 9800 pro.
how come?
and can i get a higher score when my cooling on the card is better? so can i overclock more without artifacts?

and i just noticed this.. when overclocking my card, my score is lower then on stock.. even when i just overclock it a little my score gets lower...

can somebody explain this whole benching overclocking for me plz? seems like i dont get any of it...

if the gpu works anything like the cpu, yes, better cooling will help u attain better benchmark scores. even if u dont overclock u should see an increase in performance. heat kills efficiency. lost efficiency kills benchmarks. you may raising the core/mem clocks, but it could be creating so much heat that it really actually has adverse effect on performance. get a video card cooler.

allright.. thx for the response

but still.. isnt it weird that on stock my score of the card is so much lower then the score of the other 9800 pro on the list.

my system im running it on is a P4 2.8Ghz, 1028Mb Ram.
and its a Hercules Radeon 9800 Pro 128Mb

COULD BE RAM CONFIGURATION. IT IS RECOMMEDED THAT U USE THE SAME SIZE(AT LEAST) AND PREFERABLY BRAND OF RAM TO ENSURE COMPATIBILITY AND SMOOTHE OPPERATION. CPU COULD BE BOTTLENECK, AND REASON NOT ON PAR WITH OTERS WITH 9800. THE ONLY 9800 WITH INTEL, IS A 3.4GHz PROCESSOR. AND THE OTHER 2 ARE AMD'S WHICH IN GENERAL BENCH A LIL BETTER THAN INTEL. OH, AND SOMEONE WAS ANSWERING UR POST.... http://driverheaven.net/showpost.php...1&postcount=25

what do you mean with the RAM configuration? so i can better use 2x 512 instead of what i got now?
i first had 2x256... and i made sure i got the same brand for the 512...

its recommended that you use the same size. they work better together. 2x256's 2x512's, 3 256's...etc...

allright... then ill sell my 2 256mb and buy a new 512
now i just have to find somebody who will buy my 2 slips...

btw... bought a VF700-AlCu... can anyone assure me its a good cooler?
is it way worse then a pure copper... or did i do the good thing to go for a mixture...
i now need to buy some standard fans for in my case, to create some good airflow...
btw, does this cooler cool the 'fans', so they get cold and this way cool the heatsinks, or do they get warm, and the cooler cools them...

i hope you know what i mean.. cos itll help to know know that when i create a good airflow in the case...
can somebody give me some info on how to create a good airflow, or is that just something everybody needs to figure out for themselves for the best...
