A guy on another forum tested his 7800GTX with dual dualcore opterons. scored just under 8K. 10K seems possible.

Ya I'm sure if I OC a few hertz it'd do much better... But I got some really bad and slow ram (slowest timings you can) so my rig is far from good

Well any of us X8xx series owners are gonna get smoked by any 68xx series and up Nvidia cuz they will get SM 3.0 scores which we will lose out on.I used to take pride in being able to beat a 6800GT but those days are now over....Im going to sit painfully thru the new Cat 6.1s to see if they put any optimizations in(like apparently Nvidia did with the last set )

I finally found a download site with some decent bandwidth. Coming down the pipe at 62 +/- KB/Sec. It'll be a little over 2 hours to complete.

EDIT- actually looked again... our CPU scores are identical.. maybe the extra pipes makes a huge difference in this test?

Well, my download site has gone belly-up twice now. I've finally resorted to a Download manager so I don't lose progress. That's giving me a nice 110-130 KB/Sec download.

P4 3.2 @ 3.4 Prescott (992 CPU Score - LMAO)
X1800XT PE - Cat 6.1
2Gig OCZ DDR
Asus P4GPL-X
This hurts - but the Intel days are definitely counted...
I wonder what an Ageia PhysX card would do in my rig...

I wonder if the new 6.1 CATS will help?.. I'm using Dec's Omega drivers now.. Hmmm..
edit: just after posting this , I found Omega's 6.01's are out. I'm downloading now and will retest with those.
