Ehhh new score 19568 with 2x HD3870s 850/1151
Cant publish, because in this SS you see it registers as a "Generic VGA"
I can do 20k easily, untweaked run with some new gear....also ATI needs better Crossfire drivers for vista and updated ones for 3870's
EDIT: Also @ Virus- 3d06 is very CPU intensive, you would need much higher clocks to reach 19-20k with SLI...perhaps 3.8-4ghz+

Well it's official. I can't break 14k without a second graphics card, and the nForce 680i chipset < P35 or X38.
Futuremark - ORB - Result Analyzer
Note: This was only as "Stable" as necessary to complete 3dmark06 - It crashed frequently, though I never had any P95 errors, or anything of the sort.
Highest I can do ACTUALLY stable is listed in my sig. Was "Stable" @ 450x8 @ 1.448v, can't get the last 225 points i need to break 14k.
GPU was at 650/1050, RAM was 1:1 @ 4-4-4-12-1T. I'm spent trying to break 14k. I may just buy a new mainboard and call it good.
Problem is, it crashes after a few minutes (it crashes about 10 minutes and was trying to run 3dmark to induce a crash), I'm presuming the N/B is too hot (though for whatever reason, no monitoring utility picks up the NB temp sensor, only the southbridge) Typically gets through a few passes on Prime95, never actually defaults out of P95. - It seems more based on up time, so I'm presuming it's the northbridge getting either too hot, or just the Mainboard being unwilling.
Only thing that made it any more stable was 1.5v on the FSB, and that's as high as I can go. I think it's official - This Chipset or Mainboard just won't do 450x8.
Next question is - Go X38 and dump the 8800GTX for two Crossfire cards (would love to go back to ATi. Not that I'm upset with the 8800GTX, just a loyal customer.) Or... Deal with the limited FSB potential and pick up another 8800GTX?

Reason: Had nForce4 in there. Thinking Old-School.

I see you have a A1 revision 680I EVGA board.
those have typical Low Fsb speeds under quads. the new D00 revision boards are much better.
If you live in the UK i have a brand new D00 680I for sale.

I thought the A1 board from eVGA was a D00 revision. All A1 board serial numbers should end in D00 or else they are not an A1

What he said, serial ends in D00.
My only other thought is N/B Cooling, but where I'd fit that between the HR03+ wrapped around the graphics card, and the TR120 Extreme, I'm not sure.

Well 3.6ghz is about the limit of 24/7 that Q6600 is going to give you, unless its a really really good chip. However you can get X38/Penryn and wait for the 3870 X2's, but if your just looking for it for benching... I would dump the board and get 2 3870s and X38.
That or if you dont plan on upgrading your CPU to penryn (Nvidia has very limited support on the upcoming 45nm, and might not OC at all) then keep the 680i and just get another GTX.

I'll likely hold onto my Q6600 for a goodly while. I'm kinda hoping future AMD releases will take the lead, but the option would be nice in case they don't.
Plus, I'd like to hold 450x8 on a constant basis in the future, when I need just that little extra "oomph." (Not that i'll need it for a while, but still.)
The other thing is - cost wise, they're about the same.
This is a tough decision, indeed.

http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=4317511 [16075] CCC 7.12
My score is one on the right. The comparison is in the left.
I have found this to the most stable driver for the HD 2900 line of cards since my purchase. Keep in mind this is an air cooled score as I am not able to obtain LN2 at this point. Pics upon Request!

WOOOO! Broke 14k!
By nearly one thousand marks.
Futuremark - ORB - Result Analyzer
14539 with a single GPU on the new Mainboard, at lower voltages than previous.
800 3dmarks going from the EVGA 680i SLI to the Asus Maximus Formula, @ the same clocks.
I'll need another board or two to play with to truely endorse Asus (I had a resentment from past experiences.) But I'm impressed.
