Benchmark way lower than should be, cpu problem?
Well I just did a fresh install of XP SP2, used the latest NVidia drivers and other system drivers.
My system is a 915p chipset, 3.4ghz p4 w/ HT, NVidia 6800GT OC, and 1 gb of pc400 memory.
My 3dMark score is 2355 and my cpu score is 804. On the cpu test its at a constant 0 fps and the game test scene "return to proxicon" my fps is around 12 or so.
Does anyone have any suggestions? These scores are crazy low! This is a fresh system, I shouldn't be seeing these numbers.
Thanks in advance for your input.

After doing the fresh install, have you installed the latest chipset drivers for your system? You should check at www.intel.com for the latest.
OR, check at your motherboard's WEB site for latest drivers for that specific mobo.

Time to get a little more specific:
What motherboard, PSU, brand of RAM, type of Hardware, mother's maiden name, the whole gamut.

3dMark05 or 03? Did you have the setting set to default, or higher? Was v-sinc on?

the only things i can think of are v-sync, and the performance options like we have said earlier. also, like nuke there said, turn off any unnecessary background applications that you have running.

I have yet to install anything other than norton 2005 and firefox, task manager shows i hav 800 megs of ram available. I am running no other basic processes. Every driver setting has been placed to performance, vysnc off, 3dmark05 at default.
I'm going to try turning HT off and see what that does, but I'de be surprised if that fixed it.
Is it just me...or with my specs should I be seeing a higher score for a box with a fresh install and latest drivers?
