comparison of x1.0.71 and x43se drivers
Well first of all my name is raptora12. Those of you who know me do not worry I have a dictionary.This article is not to criticise either omega or cyborg or thier work in any way.I just want to show you they are both experts at what they do.so the best thing is to give you some figures and let you decide.
my rig msi 6330 athlon t-bird 1000 mhz 768mb sdr ram hd80gb eide ata 100 7200rpm western digital hd30gb eide ata 100 5600rpm western digital sound blaster audigy retail 8500 275/275 19" mitsubishi diamondtron agp x4,aperture=128mb no overclocking all tests run at 1024x768 ,32bit ,100hz both these drivers failed cpu test in 3dmark 2000,the x43se set had banding across water in code creatures with 4xfsaa and 16x aniso. Dronez :no fsaa ,no aniso. :4xfsaa,16xaniso. x1.0.71 89.54 avg.fps 42.18 avg.fps x43se 73.51 avg.fps 42.14 avg.fps Comanche4 :no fsaa ,no aniso. :4xfsaa,16xaniso. x1.0.71 18.67 avg.fps 9.65 avg.fps x43se 18.12 avg.fps 5.95 avg.fps Code Creatures :no fsaa,no aniso. :4xfsaa,16xaniso. x1.0.71 11.4 avg.fps 5.6 avg.fps x43se 13.2 avg.fps 4.6 avg.fps GLexcess :no fsaa,no aniso. :4xfsaa,16xaniso. x1.0.71 4833 2173 x43se 5016 2200 Vulpine GLmark :no fsaa,no ansio. :4xfsaa,16xaniso. x1.0.71 38.1 avg.fps 15.3 crashed x43se 37.8 avg.fps 17.4 avg.fps xp bench :no fsaa,no ansio. x1.0.71 92 x43se 92 3dmark2000 :no fsaa,no ansio. :4xfsaa,16xansio. x1.0.71 6964 2275 x43se 6516 2277 3dmark2001 :no fsaa,no ansio :4xfsaa,16xansio. x1.0.71 5775 2206 x43se 6083 2183  sorry about bad format it looked good on this end  |

I like the x43se driver
IT did not crash and it balanced fast ogl performance with fast d3d.IT seems the x1.0.71 is more ogl orientated.Although there was less blurriness with the x1.0.71 while useing fsaa and anisotropic filtering.Though the x1.0.71 suffers in speed with the 32 z-buffer,opposed to the 24-z buffer in the x43se.There was also banding in Code Creatures on the pond scene with the x43se set.So I would have to conclude the x1.0.71 more stable.
