ATI9600 pro 3Dmark01 score drop
Hi all first post here, I got the 9600pro last week and got a score of 10400 and today its down to 8800 same setup nothing has been added or removed I'm very confused could use ur help.
My system is a MSI KT4V MB, AMD 2000+ Tbred, ATI9600pro, 512 ram, all at stock speeds.

Are you using the same settings in the driver control panel?
Test is (usually) done with all sliders to the left in the direct3d tab.

is there any app you installed recently? try to uninstall it, closing all background programs does help sometimes too

Hey DUD first off welcome to Driverheaven!
Secondly I am glad to hear your problem has been fixed. Now as far as your 3dmark01 score I dont think it is too far off for your system, especially if nothing is overclocked. IMO stock, your scores should be in the 10k-12k range. To get the best score with no overclocking try a fresh install of windows. A thorough Defrag of your HD. Make sure you have your MB's latest drivers and the latest DX9. Along with turning wasteful background tasks and services off while benching. Last but not least slide your driver sliders in the control panel to performance.
This should get you very close to the max you can get without overclocking. Hope that helps you some.
