acid recording

i got the sony acid music studio and i need to know how to record stuff. i have a mic, but i dont know how to get the program to recognize it as the input. any help?

System Specs

you need to go into the preferences, choose which soundcard/drivers you want to use, and which input to record from

depending on your soundcard you may need to make the selection in the windows mixer aswell
