Sad No S/PDIF on Audigy 2 + Logitech Z680 & modded Audogy 4 Driver Disc+YouP-Pax-Fiv2.31

Hi..

I have a problem with the modded Audigy 4 Driver Disc + the new Youp-Pax-Fiv2.31 Driver.

I have the Audigy 2 and used the Audigy2ZS modded Driver Disc and had no problem with the Digital output via coaxial cable. Don't know with Driver I used..maybe the YouP-PAX-ZSv1.2 or the Driver included in the image.

Now I deleted all the drivers and also used DriverCleaner, so no Creative Software on the HD.

Rebooted...

Then I installed the new Driver YouP-PAX-Fiv2.31 and the modded Driver Disc Audigy 4 (complete install).

Now I have no digital output (S/PDIF) via coax...

The Logitech Z680 has an AC3 Decoder integrated but now it doesn't work anymore.
Also the EAX Console doesn't work...

Can anybody help me, please?

With this version the software from the modded Audigy 4 ISO that you want, including relevant patches, less the windows drivers, must be installed BEFORE installing the Youp-Pax-Fiv2.31 Driver. Any help???

This is from The YouPax website, I added the part about the patching with the modded audigy 4 applications as this install was based on using an X-FI card

Uninstallation and Installation Method
This guide attempts to show you a general method of uninstalling and installing all versions of PAX drivers. Hopefully by following this guide you can avoid many of the common problems people have while trying PAX drivers. However, some parts of this guide are specific to the driver version mentioned. The examples in this post are done with Windows XP Pro SP2 and a Creative X-FI Xtrememusic card. I strongly recommend the use of Driver Cleaner Pro as used by this guide.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Instructions For Use:
1. First Uninstall All SoundCard and/or Creative Related Applications in the Add or Remove Programs.
If you previously had PAX drivers, use the uninstaller that comes with the drivers. For example, the newest version at the time of this guide is 2.31 for the Audigy/X-FI series. You must use the uninstaller that came with the driver. You cannot use different version drivers to uninstall the drivers. If you cannot obtain the uninstaller for your version of the driver, then try using the Device Manager uninstall method.

2. Uninstall the sound card from the Device Manager. Access the device manager with WinKEY + PAUSE or in the Properties of My Computer. Then hardware tab, and Device Manager button.

3. Use Driver Cleaner Pro to remove any orphaned files. This is important because the PAX installer can detect the orphaned driver files and stop you from installing. Also, leaving behind old files can cause many problems with the installation.
Check "Select Multiple Cleaning Filters" and add the Creative Audio filters to the selection. Also, you can check other drivers that you may have used for the sound card, such as the "KxAudio" drivers.

4. Reboot! You must reboot after uninstalling the sound card from the device manager. If you try to reinstall new drivers at this point without rebooting you will encounter installation errors.
5. Once windows reboots to the desktop, it should prompt you to install new drivers for a "Multimedia Audio Device." If it does not, then that means either: 1. you have not properly removed all the creative drivers and it reinstalled them automatically, or 2. you had a driver CD in at the time and windows automatically searched and installed the drivers, or 3. The default windows drivers were installed (WDM).
Stop the installation at this point because we are going to use the PAX installer instead of the windows device manager to install the sound card. There are advantages to using the PAX installer because it installs other items that the windows installer will not.

6. Now decide if you want the creative applications. Many people say the Creative supplied applications are "bloat." I agree and do not use the applications myself. Instead I use the Creative Audio Console supplied by the drivers (including the modded drivers). The Creative Audio Console is much smaller and has almost all the necessary functions you will need to manage your soundcard. The only things it does not have are the equalizer, surround mixer, recording apps, etc. The Creative Audio Console has speaker selection, eax controls, sound fonts, and many other functions. If you are not concerned with having equalizers, then don't bother installing the modified Audigy 4 Pro Iso provided by PAX. Save bandwidth and time!

However, if you want to install the Creative Applications, then install it at this time; before the drivers! As well as any PATCHES FOR THE APPLICATIONS!!! I.E.: The SpkSet.exe and SurMixer.exe patches for the Audigy 4 modded drivers. If you install the drivers first the Creative Applications may complain about incompatible driver versions.
7. Reboot Again if you just installed the Creative Applications ISO, else continue.
8. Now try installing the pax drivers. Follow the directions closely. While the drivers are installing, you may have to use ALT + TAB to bring forward hidden "Continue" dialog or the driver will not install.

Reboot when the pax drivers ask you too. If the driver installation succeeded, you may hear the windows chimes sound as you reboot.
9. Now make sure to set up your applications and Windows to use your new soundcard. Sometimes with a new driver revision (like the PAX drivers) the hardware ID's can get changed and your previous sound card settings may no longer work. Go into: Control Panel -> Sound and Audio Devices and make sure you set the correct default sound card. The same goes for applications like Foobar2000 or Winamp that may default back to "Primary Direct Sound" device after installing new drivers. You will have to reset these applications.

10. If the drivers are still not correctly installed, I recommend trying to uninstall all devices and software again. However, when you reach the Driver Cleaner section, do this from Windows Safe Mode to make sure you remove all the old files.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
11. Specific to YouP PAX driver Version 2.31.
Multi-Edit-Switch: The multi edit switch is a program that allows you to switch the Sound equalizer that is built in the PAX driver. With older versions of the driver you had to uninstall and reinstall with a different "Sound Edit" in order to achieve the effect. Now, however, with the multi-edit-switch you can choose the sound equalizer that you want without having to uninstall.

Make sure you close all open applications and save your work before applying the switch because it will automatically reboot your system!

Thumbs Up!

THX!!

I deinstalled all the drivers and applications and installed ONLY the PAX driver and it works!
Don't even know that you don't need the Audigy 4 Apps^^; ..

But DTS doesn't work >_>;
maybe that's only a config problem..

but one question remains:
how can I use this Multi-Edit-Switch ?

I installed it but then? No shortcut where I can change the mode...
