Some newbie-questions to the Youp Pax drivers
Hi!
Since the OpenAl sound in Quake4 doesn't work well with the original drivers of my Audigy 1 soundcard, and I heard about your drivers, I wanted to try them out. Although it took me quite long to figure out which files to install, I finally installed the YouP-Pax-fiv2.31 drivers, after I uninstalled all drivers and Applications from Creative. The drivers seem to work quite well, but I miss something like the Surround-Mixer I had before, where I could control volume and turn on the digital output. Do I have to install this 2005 NewYearPack? It would be very good to make one sticky for the YouP Pax divers, where the newest version with working links, an installation guide, and basic FAQ is listed. As it is now, it's very hard for new users to find out, how and which drivers they have to intall, where exactly the differences between the single drivers (Music Male, Music Female and Gaming+DVD) are, etc... Here are some questions I have, which could also be included in such a FAQ: Is there a official Homepage for the Youp pax drivers, which is in English? What is the newest version for which Soundcard? For what exatly is the 2005 NewYearpack good for? What are the main difference between the single Youp Pax drivers (Music Male, Music Female and Gaming+DVD)? What are the main difference between the original drivers, the Youp Pax drivers and the kX drivers? Are there any other drivers? Which of them is the best suited for what situation? Are there known problems with the Youp pax drivers? I would be very happy, if you could answer my questions and maybe make such a sticky thread I mentioned above. |

HI,
Pretty much everything you want to know is here: http://www.youp-pax.org:8005/index.php Lots of good info and instructions there!! You just join to download. You can join that forum and ask the "maker" or read others questions and answers. If for instance you want the "switch" file for the different audio modes it can be downloaded from that site as well as links to the Audigy 4 Pro ISO you need to get the THX, equalizer etc. You only install the apps you want from the ISO and it must be done and patched before installing the YouP-Pax-fiv2.31 drivers. ![]() There should be a "Creative Audio Console" on your system now that you have the 2.31 drivers installed, digital output control should be in that. |
