Give this a try,
1. Latest beta drivers from Creative, Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.0002 is the one you want,
2. Latest OpenAL, http://developer.creative.com/articl...&top=38&aid=46
After the above, go to your Windows\System32 fodler and locate openal32.dll and make a copy of it. Then rename the copy to BF2OpenAL.dll, then go to your BF2 folder and make a backup of the origianl BF2OpenAL.dll, and then paste in your renamed one. Next in game if you haven't already, put the audio setting on high, hardware and with EAX.
That is how I run it on mine (Audigy ES, A1 without the firewire port), and it sounds great.

Thanks! Do I need to have the original CD installed? Or just do the beta drivers ?

Only if you want the apps, except the EQ usually doesn't work with the beta. There is a workaround for it though, you can also download the Audio Consloe, that does have a working EQ (if you use it) as well as access to most of the other apps functions (speaker settings, EAX, etc.).

You might want at least the Audio Console so that you can enable/diasble CMSS. Personally I prefer having CMSS enabled for gaming, gives surround sound effects while gaming. And I usually disable it for listening to music. The contro; apnel if nothing else gives you a one stop location for making most of the changes you would most likely be making,
and it has a considerably smaller footprint than installing the 4 or 5 apps that do the same thing.
