Modding my sb live! to audigy, live driver wont stay uninstalled.

Hey guys, im sure you get plenty of noob questions here, so ill try to stay on point.

While not a pc novice, modding drivers and such is a new concept.

Ive been trying to do a sb live! to audigy 2 for hours now. I was going to just try the audigy 4 mod, but my problem doesnt seem to be with the audigy drivers, so i want to fix this, before i try anything else, and move on.

I follow the audigy 2ns mod to a T. The patch works fine, etc.

But every time I uninstall my "creative sb live! (wdm)" drivers, they reload in safe mode, normal boots, with the net unplugged, etc.

Ive deleted the creative folder, all registry entries, used driver cleaner, removed the suit from add remove programs, and uninstalled the driver before rebooting.

But the damn driver still comes up in the found new hardware wizard, and it wont let me stop it, even before i have a chance to install the audigy line.

I think i got it to work once, by completely removing the creative/live stuff not rebooting, and then installing the audigy drivers over the top.

The audigy suite recognized my card, and let me install everything, (though the apps, and volume control stuff didnt work on reboot said the app was ment for diff hardware), and on reboot, the sb live was detected again, and the driver reloaded, ceasing what was an apparent improvement in sound quality. And it made me reboot again. Because then on reboot, the driver reverted back to the "creative sb live! (wdm)" that i was forced to restart to install.

Im at my wits end here. How do i get rid of this driver, and prevent it from comming back every damn time. So i can completely install the audigy 2 ns drivers.

thanks in advance guys

Did you try using Driver Cleaner Profession Edition? It's a great tool. Google it!
