Live Platinum 5.1, and Win Xp driver problems, how i can resolve?
Hi guys, i'm italian user who have a LIVE 5.1 + Live Drive II, or as we can best say a Platinum 5.1, now i can say that win xp does'nt see the external bay with Creative web site drivers (and other many creative's drivers versions), and personaly only with a particular set of drivers (if i'm not in error, with Compaq FTP drivers) i managed to see ONLY the externat optical output to win xp, now the question is:
How i can see in windows xp the live platinum completely in all his functions?
I'm ready to mod my live to audigy series (also if does'nt improve the audio) and then install audigy platinum drivers if it can really resolve win xp problems..
i also hear that the original last platinum cd bundled with the card will resolve problems with win xp, but i have'nt understand if it's real or not...
Than who has resolved Platinum problems with win xp?
And as he manged to arrive to those results?
Thanks a lot, and sorry for my bad english.

Uninstall all creative's drivers and then use Driver Cleanner Pro to make sure that all creative drivers are gone. Then install drivers. That should do the trick

I can't say anything 100% sure how it will work with Live! cards, but atleast no problems with Audigy 1 or 2. Isn't Live! using same driver/software package with Audigy 1? I've done this 'mod' to my Audigy 2 Platinum --> no issues here.

I'm having the same problem here also...
His question is the following, how can we use the LIVE drive that has the headphone and optical outputs with the latest PAX 1.02 driver for audigy (or sblive in his case)
In my case I have a Audigy1 card connected to an live drive2 or audigy2 live drive which are all the same.
What I need is the ability to hear the sound via the headphone jack on the live drive.
This worked fine with the audigy native drivers (platinum) but it does not work with any of the Audigy 4 or PAX 1.02 (PAX-A4V1.02) driver.
The optical output on the live drive seems to work fine, but the headphone jack is completely dead.
If anyone has an idea how to fix it plz let me know.
Now here is what I'm thinking we might need.
I think we need the drivers from the last audigy model (audigy 2 ????) that ever worked with an internal BAY live drive. And use that as the main driver and then install the audigy 4 pro software from the iso, except the drivers of course... But then we would be running on lower end drivers wont we ? Or is there another method, perhaps just an app from the old Platinum cards etc...
Is this correct ?
Is there no way the live drive will be completely recognized via the more advanced drivers ?
such as zs, audigy4 pro and PAX ???
Plz clarify...
Also what is the best driver to use now for the Audigy1 (Most stable) reardless of live drive working or not. This is a second question not related to the above.
Thanks
