Wowie. Now i have the option to use x-fi in BF2, but it crashes when i try to apply using X-Fi on Audigy2zs. Guys you MUST use the default bf2openal.dll for bf2 or it will NOT start with these new drivers.
BUT!
They seem amazing! BF2 has NEVER been so smooth and good sounding. Running options hardware/high/eax on in Audio options in BF2.
Going back to the battlefield. Good luck.

I think so
Them not working with older openal.dll and ONLY working with the default BF2 bf2openal.dll means they are doing something new.
There seems to be way more ambience and more fluid transition in surround between the speakers in bf2 with these new drivers.
The second version is also for 64 bit, the top one only 32bit, so for 32 bit OS choose top one. Newer build it seems.

Well my BF2 seemed incredibly smooth over the last beta drivers, and I made sergeant tonite in BF2 (25000 points) so i am chuffed tonite hehe. Yes, it did actually seem much smoother, but i havent tried any other games yet, so it will be interesting to see.
And i only had to uninstall the drivers using the ctzapp in the new drivers, reboot (didnt have to uninstall creative software). Booted, installed with ctzapp, and the audigy4 software i use with my a2zs worked fine.

There is no info on the updates yet, but i am guessing these fixes are in this driver seeing the change in BF2 (since the BF2 openal performance update was in the beta driver).

No. I am just using the software from the normal A4 iso (pax iso from these forums) and these drivers. Havent used pax drivers for a long time since the betas came a while ago.
Using Audigy2ZS. I can test on my bros pc tomorrow since he has normal Audigy2 and same software setup as me.

This full driver includes updates and fixes for Sound Blaster X-Fi™ on Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) operating systems. It may be used by those who may have misplaced the Sound Blaster X-Fi Installation CD.

There must be some other issue then. I run 1280x960 6xAA everything max. Its smooth with ZERO stutter. Maybe do a complete uninstall of drivers with drivercleaner etc etc and try again?
Also i couldnt run bf2 with everything max with 1 gig ram without stutter. 1.5 gigs ram got rid of the stutter. Also running all sound options high uses more ram. That might be your problem.

Did anyone try these drivers with HL2? They mess up the sound royally for me, although they're sweet in BF2. It may be my HL2 install that's crappy, since I haven't played it in a few months, and did a windows reinstall in the meantime, so I would like to hear if someone else have them working well with HL2.

Strange... 5.12.02.1143 dated 08 august, 5.12.06.1161 (newer) dated 18 june (???)
The 5.12.02.1143 is also the version of the offical driver released on creative us website for X-fi soundcard (2.07.0003.2)
