Wow Thanks RIV@NVX
That was fast!

Getting an error when I try to run the rared file and point to the extracted AUD2DRVL11021217.exe folder.

Extracting earlier.bat
Extracting i6comp.exe
Extracting ZD51145.DLL
CRC failed in ZD51145.DLL
Unexpected end of archive

I don't have winrar and extracted the exe file with winzip. I'm wondering if thats the cause of the error or is it the noob behind the keyboard ?

I think that WinZIP doesn't support RAR3 archives.
Try WinRAR 3 instead.

You don't need to buy WinRAR to extract. Use evalution, it is not limited on that feature.

Aye thats what I did . I extracted the exe file with rar then your file overwrote and everything installed perfectly through the ctzapxx. Setup failed didn't detect A2. I'm going to buy rar I think winzips soo limited and doesn't compress well. These drivers plus dx9 Cat 3 and mmc8 really make a huge difference in dvd playback . Everything looks and sounds so much better

Thanks for your help Riv

Are you using Necrosis's Audigy2 Pack?

Hmmm...
You need to patch Necrosis's Package too (as mentioned in thread).

Everything installed nicely. The only problem I'm running into is with the Speaker Settings. When I try to run this it says, "The selected sound card is not supported by the application".

Another guy said he had no problem running this though, and I've been able to still run my old Audigy Speaker Settings app, but if there's a way to get the new one running that would be great!

So, you have Audigy. Which one (OEM, Player)? Os?
And what it says?
And Another question - have you already installed Necrosis's Pack (Audigy2 CD)? Because these are JUST updates.

going to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

It's an OEM Audigy1 under XP SP1. I did a full install of Necrosis's Pack and then rebooted and did the updates and installed the new driver.

When I click on Creative Speaker Settings it says "The selected sound card is not supported by the application", and I can only click OK.

After installing these on an Audigy1 should Audigy2 show up on device manager, volume control, etc? It still says Audigy1 on my computer after installing.

No your card will still show as an Audigy 1.
Your driver date should be 11/22/2002, and your driver version should be 5.12.1.323 if yer running XP/2000.

so what improvments would I expect from this driver update , if I installed the set for my SB Live 5.1? would I get similar to a hacked driver that turns sb live to audigy?

Installer Patch Updated

This is just to let everyone know after I saw some posts that
the exe was failing I updated then re-uploaded the patch.

When this patch was originally written I was using
WinRar 3.10 Beta 4. The updated file has now been
written using the final release of WinRar 3.10.

I hope this corrects the problems.

OK... answering generally.
This patch DOES NOT change your soundcard (Live=>Audigy, Audigy=>Audigy2).
It should work on both Live! and Audigy as soon as you have installed Audigy2 Driver Pack.
This patch contains numerous fixes.

Don't expect it to be 100% compatible with Audigy or Live!, because it is made for Audigy2, but since it is based on older drivers that were for Audigy/Live!, it should work.

@Phantastica
I am not exactly sure (it works on my Audigy OEM), but try setting various settings in Windows Control Panel.

I wish my PCI512 would work with any of these...some of them even have support for it built in(the compaq ones), but none of them will give me my 4 speakers so I can't use any my current drivers for it are a year old now hah.

SBLive in XP

Installed the drivers and Audio HQ, Speaker Calibrator, Speaker Settings, Surround Mixer and SoundFont Bank Manager, including updates avaiable for these. It all went ok, but:

- EAX console, Speaker Calibrator and Speaker Settings don't work (before or after updates).
- I miss the keyboard in Audio HQ, because the one in SoundFont Bank Manager is cutting sounds.

You have installed Necrosis's pack first and they didn't work at that time?
Maybe CL has abandoned support for Live!?
Don't know, please give me the exact procedure you have done and which pack you installed first and later (guide maybe needs updating).

Same problem I had here... don't want to check the updates though.

I've extracted the pack and then ran update on it, then installed.

But anyway, kX drivers rule.

The latest drivers I had installed were from Audigy2, released nov 2nd. I don't know if they were from Necrosis. All installed apps (Surround Mixer with Speaker Settings and Audio HQ) have been working fine.

For these latest ones, I had removed SB Live Web (or something like that), so I guess XP's original drivers were loaded again. I also deleted Creative's folder in Program Files before I followed the steps in your post.

Oh, and I also expected some Asio support, but I guess I'm too naive to believe that my card supports it.

@Bedeox:
kX do rule. Check the updated first post.
@Ney:
ASIO support could be, not sure. But don't expect too much.
Use kX if you want ASIO.
You have Live! card and apps are working fine?
Hmmm...
