Question about attaching front case ports to mic in and audio in?
Hi all:
I first of all want to say that I know absolutely nothing about audio, so please be gentle with your explanations. I've been reading through this forum about how to get your front audio ports on computer cases working with an Audigy 2 ZS gamer, and so far the closest search I've come across is this one: Creative Audigy 2 AD_EXT pin assignment The thing is, I have no idea what this is talking about? Would it be possible for someone to show me which pins I should connect my mic in and audio in ports to? Also, will this prevent me from having the 7.1 capabilities on the actual card? If you can think of any other things I might need to know, please fill me in, in layman's terms if possible. Thanks for the help in advance, I hope someone can help me out, but I've never had the front ports plugged in before so I guess I can't miss what i don't have right? |

if you use the J1 connector on the ZS, it will not affect your ability to use 7.1 sound
a couple of notes the headphones out is a duplicate of the front output, unlike the headphones out on a platinum drive, and the mic is also a duplicate of the mic on the rear of the card

thanks dj_stick for you help. I said I'm a real big newbie at this stuff, what do you mean by "the headphones out is a duplicate of the front output". If I want to get sound out of the front port on my case, shouldn't I plug that into a "headphone in", and not a headphone out? And also, what do you mean by duplicate? Does that mean that when I plug my headphones into the front and have speakers in the back the audio will come out both?
