New Audigy2/ZS beta drivers!

Sound Blaster Audigy 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series Beta driver for OpenAL support

This update adds full support of OpenAL hardware for Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 and Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio devices.

Added Features or Enhancements:
* Provides full OpenAL / EAX ADVANCED HD support when used with the Doom 3 1.3 patch, including EAX 4.0 support for the new “Resurrection of Evil” expansion pack.
* Improves performance of all OpenAL game titles, including Battlefield 2.

Requirements
* Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or Windows 2000 Service Pack 4.
* Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 or Audigy 2 ZS series internal audio device.

Notes
* THIS IS AN UNSUPPORTED BETA DRIVER. We recommend that only experienced users should
install them.
* Make sure you uninstall your existing Audigy 2 driver, before installing the beta driver.
* Do not install this update on external USB Sound Blaster audio device.
* Some Creative Labs applications such as Surround Mixer, THX console, and MediaSource may not work properly with this beta driver.
* Refer to readme file for more information.

I just checked the driver version now and it is 5.12.31.1100 dated 2005/03/28.

Doom3 resurrection (although im not much of a D3 fan) sounds amazing now!

Well Guys I did installed on top of New Year Pax I did lose my modded ZS

But I hope Classic Leon would put into new driver set that be sweet

But it's worth upgrade for it. It's much louder too. Going try movies later today on them

Well, it's my understanding that you won't be able to use these drivers with D3 until Id releases the v1.3 patch. Has the patch been delivered already? My install of D3 was automatically patched to v1.2 when I installed the expansion pack.

This isn't JUST a Doom 3 fix, you know. Its a general update for the drivers, it helps with other games other than Doom 3.

i using them and there working great for me, and i did notice improvements in my games.

I did notice the performance increase too in general.
Also the sound seems fuller and with less noise than before. I havent tested music yet but this looks good

These new drivers with OpenAL seems the Greatest driver that Creative has created

I hope they become official soon to see how good does with my Audigy2 ZS

Well, I have tested and they work with NewYear 2005 soft package. I hope mr. PaX can mod this drivers soon.

woot Ty for the post! These beta's are great. I installed over the top and the bass is definately much more audible, highs seem crisper too. Time to check a few games out.

hi guys. i have installed these beta drivers on my audigy2 zs .. well, i have a creative t7900 speaker set and the bass became shit. i must reinstall de original driver set (not drm) and the pax soft package.

I've finaly tested this driver, and it still amazes me that it came from Creative!?!

This driver is G.R.E.A.T.! It' no bloatware, it's SIMPLE & SMOOTH! I reccomend this driver to Gamers, it eats less resources and supports EAX reverb effects... Note, you can use Control panel supplied with this driver, but you have to find it & start it manully..

Has anyone tried ASIO with this driver yet?

I uninstalled all my creative drivers, deleted evrything and used driver cleaner, but i cant install this drivers

It stops inn the middle. I have to use task manager to close the installation and then the windows hardware installtion pops up and ask me if i want to install Creative Game Port, but if i press continue it says installtion failure, etc

what control panel are you talking about? can you tell us where is it exactly pls?

Try Driver Cleaner Pro 1.1

EDIT

My only complain with this driver is that it seems like I lost all the sound in FarCry. Anyone else got this problem?

Lol i did, but the problem is that i think i removed too much

deleted some files in the windows folder and now it wont install

I have been using these for about a week and I think they are great. With the older driver sets alot of wav files or ventrilo vocie chat sounded kinda "tinny" if I didnt tinker w/ the treble and bass settings. With these drivers everything sounds great plus I havent heard any noise, pops, or clicks yet. When I installed them I did what they said not too, I just installed them overtop of the older creative drivers and I dont seem to have any problems.
