Hello everybody,
I'm having a weird problem when playing dvd-audio with my audigy 2 platinum. I tried many things before posting here but without success... My problem is when I insert a dvd-a in my drive and when it's detected as a dvd-a my computer simply reboot without no error. This problem occur user the last driver from creative or the YouP modified drivers. When I stop the process CTDVDDET.exe it reboot only when I try to play the disc in Creative dvd-a player it reboot, but when using windvd 6 only the apps stop with an error. I've updated every thing on my computer, BIOS, chipset driver, video driver with no success. If I use the software and driver from the cd I got with my soundcard (old driver) I don't have any problem playing dvd-a... I have a P4 2.4Ghz with hyperthreading on an Asus P4P800 and an Audigy 2 running on IRQ 21 and it's the only device using this IRQ. I have no more idea on what I should try... ![]() Thanks in advance for the help! |

No I tried the modded drivers because the problem started with updated driver from Creative. I though the modded drivers could solve my problem, but it did not... It's a really weird problem. Even with a fresh Windows installation I have the same problem.

I'm having trouble playing DVD-Audio with WinDVD 6. Whenever I select a track WinDVD closes on me. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS with the lastest drivers.

I solved a part of my problem but I don't know how... Now my computer doesn't reboot but windvd 6 just stop with an error and creative player just simply won't play. The play option is greyed but the time lime always stay at the beginning. I've saw somewhere that this problem happend when you do have the internal spdif cable connected from the dvd drive and the soundcard. But I don't use that cable. Someone got an idea how to solve this?

Maybe my dvd drive is too old for these drivers-creative might have dropped support for older dvd drives with the audigy 4 package.

try this:
deinstall "creative dvd audio plugin for audigy series" or deinstall windvd6 and before you reinstall, extract the windvd6.exe file with for example winrar (www.rarsoft.com) and delete the "creative" folder in "3rdPartyApp". then install windvd again. it solved my problem before i update to the latest modded driver by youp. got the system (2.4ghz ht; asus p4p800) like yours but audigy 2. got an audigy 1. os: win2003 i installed the "PAX-NewYear v1.2 drivers (Jan,1,2005)" with the "PAX-NewYear2005" package and i don't have any problems with my driver anymore ![]() hope it would help you to solve your crashes! |

Hi!
I just want to say that I'm working to find a solution to the problem. Right now I installed a fresh windows SP2 on my computer and PAX1.02 driver + audigy 4 hacked software and I can play DVD-audio with no problem. So I will install the drivers one by one to see if one of them is conflicting with creative software and if it's not a driver problem I will install my software one by one and see if it's a problem with one of them! It's going to be long but I wan't my DVD-A!!! So wait and see! |
