the driver code itself supports EAX - the special reverb (and any other effect in EAx) unit has to be translated into the 10k2 DSP - you cna;t do this by modifying an .inf file.

hardware-wise the the new E-MU line and the Audigy line are too different for drivers to work cross platform

I have isolated the open handles in the registry responsible for the shutdown hangs. They are related to the entertainment center component. If it is worth anything, here they are:

I think what Classic_Leon was referring to when he mentioned the Remote Control Component is the one that was bundled with the Audigy 2 ZS package. It works properly with the new NewYearPAX2005 drivers. I just loaded it on my computer. If you need remote control support, the software is located in the Audigy 2 ZS package in \Cms\Remote. Sure.. It's not as fancy looking as the new Creative Entertainment Center, but it should satisfy us until the Entertainment Center is fixed.

Is it IMPOSSIBLE to get EAX 4.0 from my EMU 0404 sound card?

It uses the same DSP chip as Audigys, but would it need to be reprogrammed? Would this lead to resampling of all data to 48kHz?

Is it also impossible to make a modded 0404 driver to support EAX 4.0?

galaxiedude I cant find this remote feature you referenced in your post, can you be more specific as to where it is and how you installed it, what audigy2 package are you referring to?

THanks for the info. I guess I'll just wait. The new entertainment center is really good for me coz it properly display chinese characters for my chinese songs. The previous remote package I used for my mediasource 2 does not display chinese characters properly on the menu and I get squares instead. Thanks for the info though!

Ok, ive followed all this down to a T for my audigy 2 ZS,

All drivers/apps folders/reg / and driver cleaner ran in safe mod.

Tried to install driver and new year pack i get failed as of some hardware aint on pc and it only installs media centre and 1 or 2 apps and main 1.2 driver.

Read on here and in links other peeps with same prob, so follow the advise do all above again and install 1.2 driver on its own (ive had few weeks the standalone) and reboot.

Again follow all to a T dont click NEXT on the install until creative windows pops up and u install all from it, but i cant the top tick box contains the things i need audigy2 bottom media centre install fine after that fails, then i run the pax update but there is little to update so im now on bare mediasource nothing more inc EAX or Speakers settings or anything

When i look at audio HQ in coltrol panel and run the surround mixer its got the old one thats from live card series

, i did tick in pax setting all i left unticked was intertianment one, but by defualt there is 2 boxed unticked.

Im now gonna clean all to starting stage again and wait here on some very appriated help.

I can follow someones lead if its laid out simple. thanks in advance.

If you read through all the posts in this thread and still are having problems, it may be better to wait for the next release. Thanks but i already said above i did install the standlaone 1.2 driver and then do all this was after a total clean up.

I just cant get the real creative part to install the audigy parts i et mediaosource to install as it runs after that fails, then i update but there isnt much to update.

I got no eax or or buttons on my mediasource for any fancy things.

Others got round this, i can to if i get input i be really grateful.

Sound is quite good so far but like my eax etc.

If you installation hangs when you are waiting Creative installation is ready to pop-up, press Ctrl+Alt+Del to stop start.exe and run this package again.

It could be done and I asked him for this. But he can't confirm the card is able to run fine without any bugs. So he's new drivers will not support E-MU series.

IM a NOOB, i choose wrong box for install i chose top as the menu is laid out in 1.2 new year drivers and in this new pax its for audigy 2 ,lol i had to redo with bottom tick box for ZS, i did however take advise and install seperate downloaded 1.2 new year driver then reboot and choose option3, i installed all but the intertainment app and im 100% delighted thanks to modder and thanks to peep who linked to his site with high speed downloads as i was timing out all time at 7KB sec on IE, i got over 380KB sec of him.

All i need know is can we made the cd info retrieval of text from online database auto like old live software , you can at leat now do in mediasource main player not need switch view but still need close and reopne to get info to show up, id like it auto and show without restart as old live series.

What would happen on not PLAT ZS if i installed intertainemnt side of it (i know i not got remote and read it can hang pc at shutdown).

1 more Q, i dont get how graphic EQ is seperate from EAX, i set my EAX 99% time to POP and if i change obv its not ideal for EQ to be on another type genre like classic, can we make the 2 copy each others current imputs by user from pop to classic to rock ?.

Classic Leon, the driver itself for the EMU0404 is actually fine I've just found out. It needs PatchMix DSP to be loaded to enable sound however.

The Creative software not installing is the only problem. I'm still happy to be your bug tester for the EMU cards. Could the software be enabled for the EMU cards please, as I could find other bug testers too. They could then download the package and test it too
