Best driver for SBLive on XP?

I've just upgraded my housemate's PC with a new motherboard, CPU and memory and changed from 98 to XPSP2. I had an old Soundblaster Live! Value with Hoontech DBII going spare because I was quite happy with the onbaord SoundMAX and not needing any digital in/outs since i sold my minidisc recorder.

Anyway, he still has a minidisc recorder and would like to use the SPDIF-in/out provided by the Hoontech. There's a fresh install of XP with service pack 2 on there and I havent installed any Creative drivers. Sound is currently working thru the onboard SoundMAX chip (which has SPDIF out i noticed!). The spec is: Asus A7V880/512mb/XP2400+.

Now, which would be the best drivers to install? He doesnt play games and I dont think he needs EAX. Just needs to get the music in and out of his minidisc and then edit the audio with Adobe Audition/CoolEdit.

It seems like I have 3 or 4 choices.

1. Use WindowsXP drivers.
2. Use Creative SBLive drivers.
3. Use Creative Audigy2ZS drivers.
4. Use PAX drivers.

Considering the information above, would anyone like to recommend the best drivers. I want stability and clarity first and foremost. As long as it does the jobs ive mentioned then I'll happily forget about the other features.

Ooops. I forgot about kX. I meant to list them. That's why I mentioned EAX isnt needed because I know it doesnt support them. I just didnt know if they would let me use the Hoontech DBII.
