Questions for Classic Leon on drivers of SBlive
A big thank you to Classic Leon for helping SB live! owners here. Possibly the world population on its driver updates.
As I was looking through the forum, I picked up bits and pieces of information you have provided here. Would you be able to advice us on what can I (owner of SBlive 4.1, CT4830) do to maximize the sound card today?
- How to mod 4.1 to 5.1? By using a wire? Is there any guide on this?
- What is the most stable and efficient driver to use to-date?
- New drivers keep surfacing, what can we expect from the latest apart from the most stable driver?
- Would appreciate any additional advices for users like myself (if u have more to tell...)
Thank you!

to mod the device you will need to build or utilise DAC from the AUD_EXT connector(if your motherboard has onboard sound with s/pdif this can be used)

Sorry I haven't surfed the forum for a long time.
- How to mod 4.1 to 5.1? By using a wire? Is there any guide on this?
dj stick posted this already. I don't have any picture for this thread. so you please do with:
let your AUDIGY2 become to HI-FI!!!
Post # 23. if you have any question, ask me.
- What is the most stable and efficient driver to use to-date?
I think the driver you want is YouP-PAX 2.18
http://www.mydrivers.com/dir96/d38416.htm
- New drivers keep surfacing, what can we expect from the latest apart from the most stable driver?
There 3 drivers for 3 different drivers.
YouP-PAX ZS 2.68 for Audigy1. The driver was modded adding spdif in of non-Audigy1 platinum.
YouP-PAX VI Ultra for sblive, modded adding DOLBY DIGITAL EX decode
YouP-PAX ZS 2.66a for Audigy2 series, just modded sound quality only.
- Would appreciate any additional advices for users like myself (if u have more to tell...)
i just suggest you install Windows XP SP2. it promote you mod and stable(except we talk about WORM.) to use.

Hey leon can you please tell me what software pack I can use with YouP-PAX VI Ultra?
Live-NewYear.zip works but CMSS and some other options doesnt work with it. I also tried PAX-TH.zip and these drivers do not work with those.

Hi Nforce2XP,
I experienced the same for my CT4830, what I did was,
1)double click PAX-IV to extract files to drive C:\PAX-VI
then, I cancel the installation.
2)I copied that PAX-IV directory to another directory for keeping.
3)Go to control-panel,device manager to install driver manually.
make sure you have selected PAX WDM instead of winXP default.
4) reboot to use PAX drivers...

make sure that the soundcard has the e-mu 10k1 chip on it, otherwise none of these modded drivers will work properly

Ya know, I think it's great that there's still such a large sub-group of users for older sound cards like the SBLive, but still........the SBLive is SIX YEAR OLD (and counting). Isn't it time to upgrade to something else more contemporary? I mean, I got my first SBLive when my primary PC was a P200MMX. To each his own, but it just seems to me that it's time to move on.

Thanks man.
Do you play MGS?
Do you have any news for MGS3! This is my favourite game!!!
I used to connect my optical out of PS2 and optical in of Audigy2 by a sync cable. You konw, I think MGS3 will drive me crazy.

I've been following the threads of how to use audigy2 app on sb live, and I've been trying the YouP-PAX III E,P, and YouP-PAX IV. I think the YouP-PAX III allows more apps to install than the IV, cause there was no EAX things on app that included with YouP-PAX IV. And now I'm downloading the YouP-PAX VI Ultra, Live New Year and A2-ZS-Pack. I'm using CT4830.
And I have some questions that maybe looks similiar:
1. At some threads, I read that the A2-ZS-Pack can be used with the YouP-PAX VI Ultra at SB Live cards, is that true?
2. Can someone post a changelog, to show us what the differences of those YouP-PAX drivers and apps since the III version maybe? So many files at so many threads confuses me somehow. I have to jump here and there.
3. If I want to taste an Audigy2 flavour on my SB Live, what is the best combination between driver and app?
4. I've visited mydrivers.com but since I'm not Chinese, I don't understand the languange, and I'm confused on how to download the latest driver and app. Can someone just post the link straight to the file? Not to another tread or website.
Thank you, especially of posting a straight link to the files.

Do you use YouP-PAX-ZSv2.18 driver? And do you use app that comes from live(original), audigy2(a2forsblive), or audigy2zs(a2-zs-pax)?

Ok, I've visited mydrivers.com and analyzed any drivers and apps that it has by searching any letter that i know (really like a blind man in a jungle , hi is that ASCII? ), following each link and stoping every ad. But there are so many files there . Let me list now (for SB Live only):
YouP-PAX ZS v2.18
YouP-PAX VI Ultra
A2 ZS PAX
Live New Year
PAX TH
PAX TH-D
Creative NGO SBLive 0444
A2 ZS drv (ISO)
Due to bandwidth limit, I have to be very picky, so anyone have a changelog? Which is the latest, which is the right one for Live? And what's in the package? What's the difference between them?
