eax questions
Ok, i have a few questions about EAX i hope someone can explain to me...
I normally have EAX set to "rock" since i usually use EAX to enhance my music, but if i start up an EAX game do i have to go into my EAX pannel and change it to "eax games - normal effects"?? Or does just running a game with EAX audio automatically switch it to what it needs? Also, i have a sound blaster live! which is EAX 2. I play games like ut2004 with the "H/W 3d + EAX" setting and i'm wondering what happens with EAX 4 games when i play it on EAX 2. Is it that i only get the effects that my EAX 2 supports? Hopefully these questions can be answered Their pushing all this EAX advanced HD and i really dont evne know what advantage or how great of a one that would be over just my eax 2...

according to word-of-mouth from friends, EAX 3/4 sounds more realistic
and afaik, the game takes control of the EAX engine as soon as it is loaded

Do all new games that say they support EAX 4 HD also support/ work with EAX 2? The only difference that it wont sound as well... but will it still support it and have all the EAX 2 sound effects ect?

afaik not that many games actually support eax 3/4… and those that do would have backwards compatibility with eax 2 imho (don;t quote me on that)
