I also have this same problem. EAX Console, Speaker Settings, and Surround Mixer all give his error. The driver is installed and I do have sound so I'm not sure what went wrong. Also, using the control panel addon I can access some of the configuration.
Any news on this? It's really quite annoying not being able to change my volume through the mixer.
Cheers,

yeah it won't say audigy 2 zs, mine still says audigy 2. don't worry, really the CTCOMP patch gets rid of a line or adds a line (i forget) to bypass the card detection. its really stupid because creative could so easily make a UDP (unified driver package) but they persist not to. idiots, its more work for both them and us.
well if u used the 7.1.0 ctcomp patch i don't know if it's completely gonna work. best to try the latest which i posted. ask somebody in the other audigy 2 drivers thread also or give that a check. lot of fixes there and more knowledgable people than me haha.

Just checking to see if any has gotten the iso and to see if it unrared w/out errors. I was checking the log files and it listed some errors. It is raining here and a chance for severe storms so cable may go out.

You will have to perform a full uninstallation and reinstallation of your Audigy software. Do not install the DTS Neo6 update crap. I believe that's what causes the errors.
Oh nm you got it working.

SBLive Value CT4780 Audigy Driver install tips
When installing choose custom and DO NOT install:
1. Eax
2. Speaker calibration
3. Mixer (by not installing this, the windows 1 will work automatically from the button in the Mediasource player)
4. speaker settings
To get the Surround Mixer back, use the software you where using previously. Do a custom install and install ONLY the mixer.
Works like a champ.

for those using sblive, if you want the control panel addition you must edit the YourCPLConfig.txt file to correct the path there for the CTPanel.exe :
you must change it from:
C:\Program Files\Creative\SBAudigy2\Program\WDM\COMMON\CtPane l.exe
to:
C:\Program Files\Creative\Program\WDM\COMMON\CtPanel.exe
Well, at least that's the case on my sblive-equipped pc.

thanks for the tips!
also, for those who are getting the eax console errors on your audigy2 (maybe audigy or sblive), do not install the mediasource or dts neo6 update. i get errors if i did install those 2 updates. without those 2 updates, i do not get the eax console error.
i think something about the mediasource or dts neo6 update screws up the eax console. so stick with the mediasource on the cd for now.
cheers.

So what about Live?
Patched driver works perfectly well, but are there any suggestions about what to do with EQ, EAX Console and Speaker Settings? They refuse to work even with patch...

what updates did you install?
in what order?
try re-installing the CMS patch.

no updates at all, just the soft from original (I mean patched original) CD...
and after that I applied an EQ patch mentioned above.
