Soundmax old drivers - audigy 2

I have an asus p4p800, recently upgraded to an audigy 2 oem. Very easy to install, but I screwed up with uninstalling the onboard soundmax and think maybe I did not get all the old drivers etc. Still shows soundmax on my add remove programs thing, but nothing left to remove. Have been suspicious during game play that may be a subtle conflict happening.

Anyways any methods of cleaning out the soundmax stuff, or format C?

Also should I install the game controller, I have no use for it?

Last question creative web site states I have the most recent drivers with auto update, is this feature accurate?

thanks

System Specs

1) If uninstall won't work, then format C: is only thing I can think of. But first try disabling it in BIOS.
2) You should install Game Port, simply because it's part of hardware (Audigy2), even if you don't need it.
3) Yes, Audigy2 OEM comes with lastest drivers.

thanks. I did disable it in the bios, but forgot to disable it until I had tried out the audigy, couldn't wait. Oh well. I will put in the game port, just seems like a waste of air flow if nothting else. Now of course the new audigy card is out at a good price also.

You mean put it in hardware? That's not needed.
I thought that you asked if you should install it in Windows if you are asked to.
